My eighty five year old grandmother told me the other day that she and a friend had gone to two old folk’s home to visit to see where they could stay when they got older. I felt a tug at my heart strings when she said that. I wish I could take her in but my place is just too small. I swear to God that if I had a bigger place, I’d definitely take her in to stay with me. That way, she could spend more time with Tee and not get depressed. I mean, how can a toddler depress you, right? Wait….they can! Shit.

I wish her children would take her in but nobody is interested.

Currently, Grandma lives in a big bungalow all by herself and a maid to cook and clean for her. She drives herself around to do her marketing, to Church and to her yoga classes. One day soon, this will end. I just keep wishing and wishing that she could stay in a nursing home that is well maintained, clean, equipped with experienced staff and full of love. I really do until I can afford to get a bigger place so she can stay with me.
