When you’re really in trouble, who do you call?

Today during breakfast, baby T2 and I watched a movie together. It was about a single mom with a young daughter struggling to make ends meet when suddenly, she is kidnapped and forced to rob a bank with her daughter as hostage. After she robs the bank successfully, the police puts her down as a suspect and doesn’t believe her that she was not involved with the perpetrators. She had not visited her parents in years due to an old fall out. And she lost all her friends because they too wondered if she really worked hand in hand with the perpetrators. It was so ridiculous but you know what? These things happen and it can happen to any one of us. No kidding.

It got me thinking. Should something like that happen to me, who would I call? And which one of my friends would stay with me through thick and thin? Especially when it comes to money and the law, not even your own family sometimes would stick with you.

I once had to borrow a large sum of money for a few days. I cannot remember now what for (apartment down payment?) but boy, did everyone make a run for it! I will always remember the kind soul who did lend me the money and I duly paid him back exactly four days later when my own money came in. It is always when you’re in the deepest of shit that you discover who your real troops are.

So when you’re really in trouble, who do you call? Let’s hope you NEVER be in that situation but you may want to think about what you would do if:-

1. there is a fire and you’ve lost all your belongings

2. there is a fraud on all your bank accounts and you’ve lost everything in it

3. some robbers enter your house and want to kidnap you

4. your child is missing

5. your partner turns out to be someone else and has conned you out of everything

6. you feel like ending your life

These are real situations. Sorry for bursting your bubble but when you’re really in trouble, who do you call?
