Bidor is a small town of 25,000 people ONLY! that is located on the way to Ipoh from KL and the reason we went there was as a lunch stop-over on our way to Teluk Intan to visit our ancestral family home. Look what I noticed in this little quaint town?
The most beautiful lights! They are antique and look very English……too bad I didn’t take a close up but can you see the pretty flowers painted on the porcelain?
.
That’s my little munchkin, T1, not too happy about being in a Bidor coffee shop. Oh, she is such a princess, kids these days! Ok, so the toilets were not exactly hotel standard but this is a coffee shop!
.
That’s my cousin and I in our coffee shop clothes. And hair! Oooo, the epitome of coffee shop glamour……do we look alike? She is mixed Chinese, Portuguese, Japanese (I don’t have Japanese but I have Indian! on top of Chinese and Portuguese) and from Perth. Actually, we have no blood relation because she was my grandfather’s 3rd wife’s grand daughter but we’re pretty close. Next month, we’ll be off to Chiang Mai to celebrate her 50th birthday!!! Can’t wait.
.
And look?! An antique safe right there beside the cashier counter of the coffee shop!!!
At times like this, I only wished I’d paid more attention to my family’s antiques when they were all up for the takings!!! They all have history, character….and a spooky past.
