After having been to Red Box at several locations several times, I will offer you some tips for karaoke-ing at Red Box.

I must say that if you want to have a good croaking night out, please book in advance and make yourselves very clear. PLUS, get the name of the person whom you made the booking with. Red Box will not allow you a room of 10 if not 10 people are present (unless you’re willing to offer to pay for 10 heads whether or not they turn up), so when you do make a booking, know exactly how many people are showing up. Rooms are normally offered subject to availability.

For example, they will cramp you into the smallest room that will fit 6 people if you have 6 people. If you’re lucky, they will put you in a room for 10 because they no longer have 6 pax rooms.

You pay something like RM60-80 per head (can’t remember now!) for so many hours of crooning with a dinner buffet included but only 1 free drink. If you want the better part of the buffet, go early. Say 8pm. The buffet starts clearing up after 10pm.

Also, if you are paying a deposit, make sure you know what it is for and what it includes and again, take the name of the person who told you OK this or OK that. *grins* Better safe than sorry………You know how it is…….all these karaoke joints are run by Chinaman who want to make more money. *grins*

They normally chase you out about 3am but you can probably hang out till 4am, you just won’t get any more service after 3am. Interestingly, I have been with one other (i.e. 2 people) and I have been with 10 others, I have even been with children and all times, it has been excellent good fun at Red Box.

So there. Those are my tips for karaoke-ing at Red Box.

Not too long ago, my girl friends and I did our annual karaoke stunts and we had a glorious room with an ensuite washroom. Now if you had brought a group of businessmen there to entertain, that washroom would have been used as the ‘private’ room for couples. *grins*

The room had a mega-sized TV screen too, a platform and they even came with Burberry scarves. OK, fake Burberry scarves…….in case you got too cold or wanted to get creative.

There were 2 complimentary fruit platters…….

And lots of comfy furniture of sorts that we used as props! What was she doing to that stool???

And last but not least, 2 nutters – the one on the left just gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl yesterday!

The one on the right is never getting pregnant ever again.

There are not many places one can go karaoke-ing in KL as Red Box seems to have a monopoly but it’s still good fun. Even for kids during the day as they have children songs too and depending on your child’s age, they might be into the latest pop music! I know mine is……even my little one, OK???
