Time flies when you blink an eye

I don’t want to blink ever. If only it was possible.

This morning, Tee and I left the house at 930am to attend her Mandarin classes that lasted till noon. Then we went to a friend’s place to play and before I knew it, we were home at 530pm and after a quick shower, she had passed out on the couch whilst I cooked her dinner. *sigh*

I had wanted so much to spend more time with her today. Alone time. Just me and her. A friend of mine sent me an email today that made me cry. The gist of it below (something just too good not to share), and I will dedicate it to my dearest daughter:

Just for today,

I am going to smile when I see your face and laugh when I feel like crying.

I will let you choose what you want to wear, and smile and say how perfect it is.

I am going to step over the laundry and pick you up and take you to the park to play.

I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together.

I will switch the phone and computer off, and sit with you outside to blow bubbles.

I will not yell once, not even a tone of anger when you whine for whatever it is that you want.

I won’t worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second guess every decision I have made where you are concerned.

I will let you help me bake cookies, and make a mess.

I will take us to McDonald’s and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can have both toys.

I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you.

I will let you splash in the tub and not get angry. I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars.

I will snuggle beside you for hours, and miss my favourite TV shows.

Tonight, when I run my fingers through your hair, I will simply be grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever given.

I will think about the mothers and fathers who are searching for their missing children, the mothers and fathers who are visiting their children’s graves instead of their bedrooms. The mothers and fathers who are in hospital rooms watching their children suffer senselessly and screaming inside that little body

And when I kiss you goodnight I will hold you a little tighter, a little longer. It is then, that I will thank God for you, and ask him for nothing except that you are with me forever.

Are you crying????????????????????

It is so aligned with Reiki Principles which go like this:

Just for Today, I will not be angry

Just for Today, I will not worry

Just for Today, I will work hard and be honest

Just for Today, I will be kind

Just for Today, I will be grateful…….

*sigh* Life is so short. So much to do. So little time……so just a little reminder people, to do what you have to do.

  1. That’s so touching. Sometimes we forget that we don’t have all the time in the world to spend with each other. Reminds me of all the times I could’ve spent with my nephew but didn’t.

Thanks for sharing that with us.
