The Hubs works late at the office because he just does not have enough manpower. In his line of work, it is very difficult getting good staff. Actually, in many lines of work in Malaysia, the work force is just crap so the article that recently came out about Malaysian salaries being lower than our Asian neighbours is apt because our productivity is rubbish! Honestly, how much work can you really get done if you’re spending time chatting away in the pantry, taking breaks to go down for brunch or tea, wasting time reading the smartphone in the toilet on the pretext of a very long poo, etc etc etc. And then there are the Emergency Leave days and the Medical Leave days that staff take full advantage of. And then they moan that they’re salaries are so low. The good WILL stand out and the good WILL get good bonuses. Unless you are unlucky enough to be working for a lousy employer in which case, change jobs!
On the weekends, the Hubs works as well. In fact, he never gets a break except for the very rare times that we go on holiday so I really admire his strength. He has single minded focus and works purposefully. However, over the weekends, his work is one he actually enjoys more often than not. It is being with his family and taking care of the girls. However, he has ME as backup! If I left the girls to him and left the house, he would be stressed before noon. Tried and tested.
Sigh. What would men do without us? Honestly!
