Tee started taking an interest in writing the alphabet six months ago when she would pester and pester me to write the alphabet in dotted lines for her to trace. It was a new hobby then.
I’ve never pushed her to write or learn her alphabet because #1 – that’s what I pay the school for, and #2 – I can’t be bothered. Today, she can write her whole alphabet (practice from school although her school doesn’t really emphasise on learning the alphabet as they think three is still too young, and focus on developing other areas of a toddler instead) and knows how to write her own name, my name and her daddy’s name. She can spell our names too. Her new hobby is asking us how to spell people’s names and then she writes them out.
She’s been feeling like a millionaire these past few weeks as we’ve been having birthday parties every single weekend and she gets to write out her friend’s names on their birthday cards (which she makes herself too most of the time).
I need to get those dotted line alphabet books that HFM has for her kids for Tee to practise prettier writing. Her visual perception is top notch according to her school teacher but hey, both her parents are architects. Definitely genetic.
