We’re talking about NFL jerseys and just in case you didn’t know, NFL stands for National Football League. It’s also not the soccer kind of football.
I was told that these jerseys were made out of a special material in order to absorb the sweat of sportsmen. Ewe….
It is made out of twilled cotton. That means the cotton thread when looked really closed up, is in a weave pattern, like a ketupat (Malay packed rice in weaved palm leaves usually eaten with satay skewered meat and during Raya). I’m not sure how a weaving pattern absorbs sweat but perhaps what they meant was, it releases sweat?
Since after all, it is a lot of holes on a jersey. Tiny, tiny holes……to enable the body to breathe. Especially when the sweat is pouring out whilst you pump your heart practising your skill. I don’t think I could ever wear one of these jerseys. They feel too plastic but the Hubs has quite a few. And all the icky jerseys he has are red. I don’t understand how he can wear those things. They just don’t feel like silk, which is more my kind of material. Or satin…..or chiffon…….
Despite the fact that it IS made out of cotton, it just feels different.
But the Hubs…..well, he is from the US of A after all.
