The beauty of crystals

My mother developed a keen interest in crystals this century, purchasing many books on the subject and spending hours and dollars at the magnetic crystal retailers. You know, they have the powers to lu…….rrrrre you into their shops. Come…….come……..come…….

Ancient beliefs of crystals having healing powers are becoming more and more prevalent today. My mother has cancer and believes that by wearing certain crystals, her pain lessens. It has definitely worked for her and since then she has bought crystal jewellery for those she loves.

I am one of them. And it could have been pure coincidence but it worked for me too! It would be interesting to put this little experiment to the test. Wear a particular crystal for a year and see what happens. There are crystals for every purpose in your life. Go do your research.

Apart from the fact that crystals have healing powers, they are also baubles of incredible beauty, whether on clothes, worn as jewellery or as decorative objects around the home.

For my wedding, I had a few crystals stuck onto my scallop bordered gown. It’s not so clear in the picture below but it was very subtle, very beautiful.

A fortnight ago, we attended a little girl’s birthday party and her mother had custom made a lavender full length chiffon gown with crystals for her daughter from a specialist tailor in Bangsar. Each and every crystal (that looked 2 millimeters in diameter to me) cost a BOMB to stick on and there were apparently TWO HUNDRED crystals stuck onto the dress, according to the receipt. So the mom checked and started counting, you know….just to be sure, and there really was two hundred. Or she would have brought the dress back. Well, this was in Bangsar, where the prices of crystals and everything else is more up market.

If you’re about to get married or just want to get some lovely, girly stuff; or are planning a party, go check out custom crystal attire at AdvantageBridal.com. They have some gorgeous accessories. Darn, it almost makes me feel like getting married all over again!

  1. hi mama, you really have been churning lotsa stuff here for me to catch up with. Sorry I couldn’t reply to each and every one of them although I really do read each and every one of them. Some left me with intrigue (like the inter-racial aspects of your family), some left me wiser (like how your mother chose to view positively on the person who loan money from her), some left me sad (like your recent post about the three deaths), some left me laughing (like papa pumpkin’s attempt at babysitting the lil’ pumpkin!). I especially appreciate your candidness (I might have said this before), so write on mama. Hope you reap lotsa rewards and returns from this blog of yours. Enjoy Sunday! 🙂
