Next year will be a very busy year for us. Apart from some planned holidays since we didn’t do so much this year, I am looking to attend a conference quite a distance away and hoping that the kids can come too. But we also have a scheduled trip to the West so I’m not sure if we can afford to do both in one year. Maybe we might defer that to the following year? See what happens…..
I remember our last trip to New York involved SO MUCH PLANNING and that was only with ONE CHILD and in the end, I just left it to the travel agent to organise the routes and flights. However, I’m going to have to start planning these long haul flights again and pack, oh God, packing for kids on long haul flights……TWO at that. *shivers*
We have 36 hours and 15 hours and then all the connecting flights between cities, and my in-laws just gave instruction to take them to Bali. My Mom wants to go to Perth next year too. I think we will be eating sardines and plain rice for the following year. Confirmed.
What more? I need to worry about food and accommodation. It’s frigging not easy at all, I’m telling ya! It’s not like we’re millionaires with self accommodation all over the world! Thus I actually have to source for hotels and make bookings for all routes of our journeys plus think ahead of meal plans for my little fussy eater.
When we brought T1 to New York, she was almost OK to eat whatever we ate (usually take-away Chinese or burgers and fries!) but when we were in Orlando, we stayed at the Holiday Inn (with Tok-Tok’s discount, phew!) and she ate oatmeal porridge for the entire week in Orlando!!! We even brought back oatmeal sachets so she could continue her oatmeal saga in New York. I’m cracking my head to think what the best back up meal plans are for T2. She has never been on a long haul flight and has not ventured beyond Australia. So difficult travelling with kids!
So. To all you frequent travellers out there, do you have any tips? The last time we went on a long haul flight with a kid was 3 years ago. Australia is not considered long haul……I need help with accommodation for Paris, and Athens; I think I have all other cities covered. I need flight tips, packing tips, food tips etc.
How-How???

Eh Sardines aint cheap!!!
wah….cant wait to hear your travel stories. i packed the snacks that the kids love along in case they dont eat the plane’s food. perhaps if there are any that T2 likes over here (those instant toddler ones but then again, the variety overseas is way more and nicer than over here). if all fails and i hope she loves bread, let her eat just that. i did that with no.1 once. 🙂
