I was so privileged to be let in on a little secret that hid in Brickfields – a clean, modern backpacker’s outfit that housed a bevy of foreign nationalities who travelled the world in search of whatever they might find, they are the most interesting people of all………..
But this isn’t just any backpacker’s joint. It’s PODS – The Power of Dreams!
Every 1st Friday of the month, they host a performance staged by anyone and everyone who would like an audience to practise/show off their talent – up and coming talents so to speak (and believe me when I say that some of them are VERY talented!!!). I was kindly invited to one of their events and was well and truly impressed. Thoroughly enjoyed myself……..and amazed at what talent was right afore me in the heart of KL! I highly recommend you to attend if you love the arts.
On the night that I went, there was a sketch……..
The lady singer below was VERY good – way better than any/many of our local artists, and even some international ones. Her time will come to be big.
This gentleman below did a rap and, by golly, he was SO talented! His rap was about the Government and he rolled it so fast I thought he was going to end up going Lalalalalalalalaaaaaaaaaa at some point, but he didn’t. How long does one have to practise in order to get to that stage???
The entire show (of which the above were just a few) was held at PODS’s Platform 2 and 3/4 – cool or what?
Famous blogger, Antares, in the audience below seemed like a regular there.
And if I didn’t have kids, work and everything else that accompanied my busy life right now, I’d be a regular there too. In fact, I’m thinking of taking T1 to their next show!
