Pinching sisters

It’s my first day back home with the kids after a PURRRR…..FECT girlie weekend and how I already wish I was back in Bangkok.

Yes, ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did I miss my kids? No. Nonononononono. No. Maybe I’m a bad mother, but I don’t think so.

Certainly I did not miss them on my first day, nor the second but I’ll admit I was a teeny weeny bit excited to see them (just a very teeny weeny bit) during my flight back in anticipation, since they did not cry for Mama. At all. For over 72 hours.

WHAT TRAITORS!!!!

Can you believe it?

T2, my fully breastfed baby, the one who LOVES the boob like it’s heroine…….went without the boob for 3 whole days and she did not cry!!! She’d wake up and inadvertently ask for Mama? and as soon as Daddy assured her that Mama would be home soon, she went about the rest of her day as normal. WTF! I have been so taken for a ride by this little minx.

Anyway. The lesson learned is that my next girlie weekend shall no longer be a girlie weekend but a girlie WEEK!

Booyah!

I spent all morning tidying and cleaning up the home because the Hubs took care of the girls single-handedly whilst I was away. Did you think he could have managed updating the fridge or clearing the laundry? No, men don’t multi-task. Thus everything was status quo as I’d left it. Possibly in worst shape actually.

BUT. What was worse was that the girls kept screaming all morning! My ears! Oh, my ears!!! I threatened to fly back to Bangkok that very evening!

The screaming was all about T2 pinching T1. She would dig her tiny fingers into her sister’s skin then jab her fine fingernails deeper, forming a crevice of skin art. I observed as T2 went about pinching her sister in various parts of her arm whilst T1 yelled for me to “See? SEE? She’s always pinching me!! Can you SEE, Ma??”

I thought to myself, T2 has never pinched me and she has obviously learned this pinching skill from somewhere. Somebody. Somehow……

So the pinching interrogation began and the darts of defense flew back. The bottom line was that T1 HAS pinched T2 before. But only with the SOFT part of her fingers and only very GENTLY…….she claims.

Hmmm.

“How can you pinch your baby sister?” I frowned at T1.

“One day, she was screaming and hitting me! So I only did this…” Her eyes narrowed.

Hmmm.

“So she learned how to pinch because you pinched her before.” I nodded knowingly.

More darts of defense came. “I didn’t pinch. I only did this.” She showed me her little pointer and thumb like a crab pincer and kept stressing that her action was more of a caress. Or like eating a cherry.

Hmmm.

I explained to T1 that T2 will learn everything that she does. Sometimes in 10 doses, sometimes double backed and sometimes worst than she could ever imagine. I then warned T2 that she is not to pinch her sister. And I left it at that.

Lalalalalalalala – I sauntered back to my tidying.

Let them fight it out.

I cannot believe a 1.5 year old dares take on a 6.5 year old, yet T2 will probably win any battles between the two.
