Hewo! My name is Tee and here, I will be journaw-ing my super-duper holiday to Amewica in a 17 part series with the help of Mommy. Some time after the last day of school last term, I kissed my Nana my last goodbye as I wasn’t going to see her for a whole month. That…… is trauma for the both of us. Then we took a special taxi to the airport and that’s me above at Starbucks watching planes go by before our flight, JAL123.
We took Japan Airlines as recommended by all our friends and it was great. Mommy said she liked the foot rests that actually worked since she was so short and the bendy head rests which allowed her to sleep in total comfort. I hit the headphones immediately, excited to watch Disney on the plane TV.
After 7 hours of flying, we arrived in Tokyo very early in the morning. I didn’t sleep all night as I was excited to meet Mickey Mouse in Disney World. Look at what a great playground they had in Narita Airport for me to play in!
We had a transit for a few hours so after 2 hours of playing, I finally crashed on the Tatami mat beside the playground for the first time in my life. It was SO comfortable (Mommy loved it and wished she had her own Tatami mats at home!) and I charged my batteries for a whole 2 hours before a flurry of little people rushed into the playground and frightened me with their squeals.
After we boarded the second plane to New York, we were told that the plane was delayed. Huh? Delayed on an already very long journey? What a dream come true! My batteries had been recharged good by Mr Tatami so whilst everyone in the plane got more tired waiting, I was as bubbly as an energizer bunny, talking non-stop.
A whole 2 hours later, we were nervously off to New York City – on a plane that was suffering ‘technical problems’…………..
Brilliant!
The next part of of this mini-series will continue when I pass out from severe jet lag. Check back for what happens on my awwival on Amewican soil!
