Of sponsored posts and Tom from Missouri

THIS IS A SPONSORED POST

Since 50% of commenters to-date are questioning the truth behind my previous post about Tom, I thought I’d better respond to clear the air about why I do sponsored posts.

Because I want to become a millionaire from it, that’s why!!! What did you think???

First and foremost, the story of Tom is a true story. I’d dig up a photo of Tom from my collection of unfiled/un-albumed photos but it’s going to take time sifting through the chaos. We’re talking thousands of photos here dating back to 1972.

If I was creative enough to write fiction and still touch people, I’d probably be working on a book of fictional nature towards my millionaire-dom, not blogging for a measly living, which can only earn me enough to buy some toys from Toys ‘R’ Us right now. Which isn’t a bad deal considering I would be blogging anyway, with an income or not.

The decision to earn an income through sponsored posts is a decision more for self-preservation than dollar signs. I do believe that my life has been colourful enough to be able to draw truths from, in writing sponsored posts. Unless they make me write about alien discovery in Saturn, of course. For even rockets I can write about. The Hubs has a friend who is an astronaut, the Hubs wanted to be an astronaut, we’ve ordered an astronaut cake from Mamamin, the Hubs is always teaching Tee about rockets and spaceships……see? Plenty to write about.

Where do I draw the line between brutal honesty and twisting the truth to meet the requirements for a sponsored post? Well, anyone who’s known me long enough would know that I am the lousiest liar on planet Earth. I just don’t have the guts, owing to my Catholic schoolgirl upbringing that God is watching, and I would rot in hell should I lift my skirt up for any boy. And not tell my Mom.

Of course, I have the imagination to whip up a story of any nature but I don’t feel that is right. This blog is about me and my life and I will stay true to that. If ever I decided that my imagination needed an outlet, I’d start a new blog and I’d tell you it was a fantasy blog. I do have some wild fantasies. *wink*

You, my readers today, are my listeners. The ears to my heart, my ups and my downs, and I trust you enough to be able to unmask my soul for your consumption. In return, I also want to be your ears (if you have a blog), failing which, just call me or email me, and I will be there if you want me to be. Unless you are some psycho lurking in the background who happens to irritate the shit out of me for some reason.

Writing sponsored posts is also a challenge for me that I enjoy, as those of you who know me will testify my love for a challenge. Whilst bringing up a hyperactive super-responsive looney baby nutcase Tee is the greatest challenge I have ever faced, I need another type of challenge which surely needs no explanation. Most stay-at-home Moms out there who are even half as involved with their children as I am, WILL understand.

So if me writing sponsored posts bothers you, my dear friends, don’t read. For the last thing I want is to be a bother to anyone. Scout’s honour. Having said that, I’m not in the least bit offended that the question was raised as it is a question worthy of anyone. I totally respect it.

Now get me a Margarita for being so serious! Cheers to all of you! *clink*
