It’s called downsizing, or luxuriating, depending on how you want to look at it. When we told people we were moving into a new home half the size of our current home then, they said we were mad. Now we know we were mad.
And then, we told them that we weren’t going to use any movers because we believed that we could manage it ourselves. Never again. The next time we move, and yes, we have to because we really want to live in a house, for the children’s sake (I talk as though I have more than one, but y’know, you’ve got to dream it to make it happen *wink*), we are definitely, most definitely going to engage some Moving Relocation Services company to do it for us. They know what they’re doing, these guys. And I can spend more time blogging rather than die of sinus attacks from an overload of dust.
The whole move took us six months. Well, the actual transporting of boxes took us 2-3 months, only done every weekend. And then the final big bulk items were done through two lorry trips. And then the unpacking and cleaning. So in total, six months. How did we manage to squeeze 3,000 square feet of stuff into a 1,800 square feet apartment? We gave a lot of stuff away 🙂
But now that we have Tee and one day, number two, I am currently designing our next home, which will be built to work for our family. And the Hubs is working crazy in order to make this happen, sooner than later.
