When I first started blogging several years ago, it was just a way to bridge my sanity (or lack of) as a Stay-At-Home-Mom. Later, I was told that through blogging, I could actually earn an income and since I was already doing it, I might as well earn a residual income. Thus the exploration began.

One of the ways that one can make money is from affiliate programs. Companies will pay you if you promote their products and if you make a sale of their product, you get a percentage of commission. At that point, I started making money not through affiliate programs but just through simple, plain advertising. I was already making enough to support holidays abroad so I hadn’t yet delved into affiliate marketing programs although my fellow blogging friends tell me that it is even more lucrative than just plain advertising. I suppose if and when I do stop working full time, this is an area I will explore further.
