My mother has had this maid for two years. She asked for a holiday back home to Indonesia for Raya for two weeks. So mom got the Hubs to organise the tickets. When we asked the maid what dates she wanted to travel, she gave us the exact dates amounting to three weeks when my mother only allowed her two weeks. We blur, blur didn’t verify with my mother and just booked the tickets for the maid. All my mother said was book her ticket and get the dates from her. That’s how trusting my mother is and never learns despite being burnt a gazillion times.

Days before departure, the maid kept asking my mother for more money to bring back home. In the end, the maid left less than RM1,000 with my mother. And the house keys too.

She was due back yesterday but didn’t show up. After verifying with Air Asia that she never got onto the plane in Indonesia, my mom now has to hunt for a new maid. AND she gets fined because that is the new ruling here, but she’ll use the leftover maid’s salary to pay for it. But the hassle of making a police report et al…..*sigh*

This week, there is some painting going on at my mother’s place and scaffolding is everywhere. On TWO occassions, my mother came home finding her balcony glass door opened. It is usually locked when she leaves. She couldn’t find anything missing but my mother doesn’t even know what she has! Anyway, I won’t be surprised if the maid’s boyfriend/uncle/whoever has been eyeing my mother’s place since they have the keys after all.

My mother is mad sometimes.
