It’s back to the grind for me – blek!

Now, THAT didn’t last very long did it? I was hoping that at the very least, I could have had my Nanny till the end of the year whilst I totally enjoyed my freedom and little business, seeing friends and doing whatever the hell I wanted to do.

Good and bad, I suppose.

The Hubs has a new employer. *as a deep sense of sadness flushes over me*

Good news? We have money! Bad news? I’m a full time Mommy again; stressed to the core, busy as a bee, frazzled and forgetful, exhausted and perpetually high on coffee. The first three nights that T2 slept with me, she woke for 2 hours to play and boob with Mama. This REALLY ain’t fun at 3-4am in the morning, especially when I just shut down the laptop at 2am. For crying out loud, GO TO SLEEP!!! When she slept with the Hubs, she’d wake at around 4am too but she’d go right back to sleep after he whispered a Shhh…..or put his hand on her. She just wanted to know that someone was there. So what gives? The &#^* I know!

I brought 2 girls to BSC by myself the other day because I had to pick up some jewelery from Poh Kong that Mom had purchased as presents. T2 was super cranky as she hadn’t napped (you see? everything goes haywire with me as the Nanny!) and yelled her head off at the Dome, where we had lunch. And the only reason we had lunch there was because little missy is now on a fish phase. She’s gone through the porridge phase for 6 months, then the french fries phase for 2 months and now it’s fish. Just so you know, she does not eat anything else. Also, she’s gone off milk in a bottle. That bugger, now that Daddy isn’t home, she refuses to take milk from me – only wants the boob. My boobs are on FIRE!!! Holy SMOKES!!! Please call the boob fire station!

I also brought the 2 girls to the Post Office (pat myself on the back). A long walk in the sun, a baby carrier and a bag full of packaged goods for posting (oh, and T1 on the other hand). To heck with the diaper bag, I stuffed my cash into my pockets, hand phone in another and car keys in yet another – the wonders of cargo pants, every Mom’s saviour.

At the post office, T2 insisted on getting out of the baby carrier and wanted to sit at the counter. She has a thing for counters, always wants to be on top, even if it wasn’t out turn. So I politely excused myself from the short queue and plonked her right in front. I really wondered what they were thinking but would have hated what they would have thought if I hadn’t plonked her at the front counter. LOUD. HIGH-PITCHED. WAILS!!! No, the post office people were very efficient seeing I had a baby and a chatty preschooler and they processed my parcels in a jiffy. Malaysia Boleh!

And then I had to arrange with Mom’s taxi driver to get her pendant delivered back to me as she dropped it in his cab on the way to the airport! Malay man – honest, found the pendant and said he’d send it back. Mom asked me to arrange a reward packet for him.

I have meetings with the migration consultants from Australia, and I have to meet them alone with 2 girls! What good is that, I wonder, but they are only here for a short time so I have to see them. I have to meet Mom’s childhood friends who are visiting at The Gardens Hotel. My in-laws are coming, I have to prepare their bedroom and clean the house up a little. I have to book our van to take us all to the airport. I have more writing assignments to do. So on top of cooking, washing dishes and feeding T2 throughout the day, and sneaking in a bit of computer time in between, I still have to pack and I can’t even call the Hubs up to say that dreaded when are you coming home?

Well, thank goodness, we’re all going on the big group family holiday we truly deserve. HURRAY!
