I love my job. Period.
Yes, really. I was just thinking the other day how I used to do this without getting paid and now I am handsomely paid to do EXACTLY the same thing. Empower women.
As a volunteer and committee member at the IBU Family Resource Group previously for several years when T1 was merely a wee toddler, I spent all my time helping Moms. With pre and post-natal depression, with baby and toddler advice, with what to do and where to go. I am always the walking, talking dictionary and I would do administration work for FREE at the Ibu House. I even contributed regularly to the IBU magazine that was published every 2 months. Although I never got a single cent from all my time spent there helping women, I was so happy! I was the central point of assistance and I was just more than happy to help all these lost or struggling women.
Fast forward 14 years later, not much has change except that I have loads more women to help and I actually get paid now. My husband always asks why I do what I do and complains that I am too generous because the majority of what I earn goes back. It is almost as though I was working as a Volunteer at IBU again. C’est le vie…..who cares if I am happy doing what I do, right?
The reality is and I keep reminding him that, if I am not so giving and generous in nature, then our karma and blessings would not be what it is today anyway. I got it from my Mother. He knows as he has also witnessed how foolishly generous my late Mother was. We now hope that none of our girls are as generous LOL. But seriously, in this life, for what do we need so much money? Even if my girls wanted to give all their money away and lived a simple life, that is their choice. I am happy as long as they are happy and truly, we do not need a lot of money to be happy.
I am really happy with my job. I love my job. Period.
And I don’t care what anyone else says.
