In life, helping your sibling is a very important trait to have. My mother has always said, blood is thicker than water and she has brought my brothers and I up to stick out for one another. Sure, they may drive against my grain at times but if they ever needed help, I’ll be there. And by the way, if they wanted to borrow money from me when they had their own money, I’d say go screw yourself.
Similarly, I’ve taught my girls that helping your sibling is something that will make me very happy. It hasn’t stuck with T2 yet but she’s only 3. My T1 however, she’s the most wonderful sister……TRULY WONDERFUL. In fact, I wish she was MY sister.
Lately, we have been walking up 4 floors from parking lot to home in our quest to eat healthy and get fit. And from example, my kids have persisted in making me walk up the 4 flights of stairs every day. They both LOVE walking up the stairs, I don’t know why! T2 because understandably she’s a toddler and this is a developmental win for her and T1, I really am not sure. But I go along with it because it is good for me after all.
Usually though, I would hold T2’s hand because she is very little and her head doesn’t even reach the balustrade so for extra balance, I hold her hand. But sometimes, I can’t because I have too many bags and my hands are full so to my delight, without even asking or prompting, my darling T1, despite having to carry her heavy food Thermos flask bag and her swimming bag, offered T2 her hand for balance one day. Bless her.
Helping your sibling is really such a miracle. Look at all the family feuds that occur in today’s world for money, for jealousy and for whatever else. So stupid and unnecessary. Spread the love and teach your children that helping your sibling is a must.

Agree 100%!
I have been very blessed with two amazing siblings. We’re all in our 40’s, and till this day, the lessons of our parents about the bond we share has carried over through all these years. Having close, caring, siblings sure does make the world that much more meaningful every step in every day.
Thank you for sharing your article. Very, very cool my friend!
