Happy Chinese New Year!!!

Gong Xi Fa Cai!! Xin Nian Kuai Le!! Sorry we’re late! But man……it’s been B.U.S.Y. I thought 2010 was supposed to be an easy, good year but for the first 6 weeks up to now, I haven’t had a single break! It’s been go, go, go…and I suppose I should look on the bright side in that I’ve actually coped when previously I would have easily died standing. Like literally, a vertical corpse. A bulgy one at that.

Chinese New Year was spent in Kelantan. As much as I thought I’d be resting there with the in-laws, I didn’t get an ounce of rest and am now fighting an attack of laryngitis. Please God, let me win. I will really perform the 60 tricep lifts as promised. The last few times I had laryngitis was whilst I was still at University and deservedly so after all those red cancerous sticks. But now? It must be from all that shouting at Tee! I cannot afford to get laryngitis because T2 would not hear my *ahem* soothing voice to calm her when necessary and can you imagine how it would feel not having a voice when your older child selectively turns a deaf ear to your requests for her to a) brush her teeth b) have her shower c) eat her food????? Yes, I could easily lift my heavy ass over and smack her on the head but….I’m not that kind of Mom. Yet.

I hope you had a great celebration with your loved ones. We sure did, although it was quiet, personal and private. But that’s the way I like it best. I am no more the social butterfly of my twenties but just a boring, stay-at-home Mom now. Small talk and competition of the wits pose no longer a challenge to me. My challenge now is bringing up good kids. MAN!!! Why is that so hard???!!!!!
