Getting an economical but spacious MPV

The Hubs doesn’t believe in buying an expensive vehicle to get us from A to B. As long as it is reasonably comfortable and has the necessary comforts, he really doesn’t believe in paying for brand names in order to show off or enjoy its accompanying luxurious comforts. He’d much rather spend the money on holidays (family time together) or good quality food (such a waste!).

He REALLY doesn’t understand my need for a new Chanel handbag, which I love so much for its versatility. You can carry it with home clothes and flip flops and STILL get away with looking marvellous!

See Jessica Alba carrying Chanel……

Our priorities are different. He would rather get me a new car, an MPV at that.

*bawl!!!!!* A new car could get me a FEW Chanel bags…..*double bawl!!!!*

But it is unavoidable with two kids that it is most practical to get an MPV because every time we have an extra passenger or guests (and we seem to get them fairly often!), we have to drive two cars all over town because there isn’t enough space to fit everyone. Our car seats and strollers alone monopolise the space and more often than not, we are squeezed in the car with hysterics from worries of people farting. Certainly, we are not so crowded like this train in Pakistan where people inside can barely even breathe what with body odour and all, but it is uncomfortable for our guests, and if we can afford a bigger car, then why not.

But which car then?

We want a cheap car (because one day, when the kids are out of the way, we will buy what WE want to buy) and out of all the MPVs we researched, buy local seems to be the way to go. It only makes sense. Why pay more unnecessarily to get the job done? Will it take us around KL economically? Yes. Will it fit our guests whenever they are in town? Yes. Does it have space for all OUR junk? Yes. Is it easy to drive? Only one way to find out…..

The FINAL Exora VIP Test Drive event is happening again this coming 30th and 31st of July. That’s not too far away, only two weeks, peeps. And this time, it will be held in Melaka!!! Not Kuala Terengganu, oh my God. It will be held at the Philea Resort & Spa in Ayer Keroh, to be exact. For you KL peeps like myself, Melaka is not too far away to get a first hand feel of the car. I know it certainly gives me an extra reason to make a weekend trip there. Anybody wants to go on a road trip to Melaka with us?

So tell me, how many of you have a local MPV? What is your feedback? How has the car treated you?

  1. LOL!! A new car is way better than a designer bag 🙂 We don’t have an MPV but hubs is planning on getting one eventhough there’s only 3 of us. Crazy!
