Drunk children

When I was in my teens, I was a capable drinker. I must have started drinking at 16? Those were the days when I’d sneak out of the house to go clubbing at Faces, Phase 2, Scandals, Brannigans, Modestos……hands up those of you from my era!!! Little did Mom know……*SSsshhhhh*

And then one day, I had a lick of tequila and I was literally under a table at a friend’s parent’s party. How embarrassing!!! It was then that I’d learnt that I was allergic to tequila. I must have been!

At University, I hardly drank simply because there wasn’t any time! If you did architecture at The Bartlett, you will concur. I do remember squatting on a London Street with some friends after an entire bottle of red wine once and another time was when I think my drink got spiked in London. Thank goodness, I was with my bestie Italian friend who brought me straight home and took really good care of me. I will never forget that because I felt SO SICK.

These days, I can take up to ONE glass of whatever, just as long as it isn’t tequila. I don’t do beers.

So really, between the Hubs and I, I’d say HE was the drinker, not I……….which is probably where my alcoholic girls got their genes from when it comes to drinking.

Talk about starting young……

Protect your livers, yo!

  1. I’m totally allergic to alcohol. Clubbing means i see you all drink while I take my juice. SO lame. 😛
Once, some colleagues wouldn’t believe me and urged me to take some sips and I ended up like a bloated red balloon with rashes all over my body at our company annual dinner. How dramatic.

  2. Prior to pregnancy, I can drink so much hubs thought I had Indian blood. 5 years of not drinking turned me into a coke light-only girl.

  3. Prior to getting married, READ uni days, i used to drink quite a bit, and loved it too. Proud to say I could hold my glass, trick is to eat something before and sip sip, don’t go empty stomach like I did during my ad days and vomitted soon after! Memalukan. Now, ppl think my wine bottles are collection, actually it’s just waiting to be opened… no chance!

  4. wow..faces. it’s been a long while. i drank, drove. and well.. never took a sip after that ‘mishap’, ever again. such a foolish person, I was.
