Since most of my readers are Moms, I’m guessing that the majority of you haven’t a clue what a plasma cutter is?

At University, I spent a lot of my time in the basement workshop making architectural models from real timber and real metal, real glass and real plastic; as such there were three dozen machines used for cutting, moulding, smoothening, shaving, drilling and punching. A dangerous place to be, really, as I got my wrist slashed by a sharp piece of metal one day.

One machine they didn’t have though, was a plasma cutter, which is a high precision metal cutter that allows you to cut shapes into a piece of metal. The more sophisticated plasma cutters cut aeroplane parts! Now you know……
