Compatibility in friends

I generally get along well with many people as I’m very easy going and worldly, ahem, but this particular Italian friend of mine from London brings such joy into my life and I am so happy that she is my friend. Just to give you an example of how compatible we are, here’s a string of messages we shared recently.

Crazy Italian: D told me that she has already seen T2 and I was a tiny bit, ok INSANELY, jealous. Give us a buzz when you’re ready to have visitors. Hugs to all xx

One week later……

Crazy Italian: R wants to thank T for her beautiful goody bag etc etc etc

Boring Malaysian: Does R know how to play 5 stones?

Crazy Italian: Yes, she plays it all the time with her GoGos. They are tiny plastic figures you use to play all the games we played with stones when we were little.

Boring Malaysian: Wow! She must be the first 5 year old I know who knows how to play 5 stones. Very impressive! T had a big part in making all the goodies in the party pack.

Crazy Italian: Would have been nice for R and T to have played 1 to 1 but she kept quickly asked by A and I and we quickly got booked up. I decided not to go to your place earlier because of your confinement and because I didn’t hear from you, figured C was too busy to take T around. Next year hope they will get a chance to play together more. They have very similar character, both self-centred!!

Boring Malaysian: Haha, ok.

Few days later….

Crazy Italian: I just fell from the stairs – YAY!!!!

Boring Malaysian: ???? Should I call an ambulance?

Crazy Italian: Haha!! That was meant for my husband, don’t worry. I fell going into the swimming pool, twisted my wrist and burst a cyst in my hand that was bothering me for a while. Saves me sterling pounds for the surgery, yay!

Boring Malaysian: Oh dear….Please be careful at the pool and I hope the hunk that you were eye-ing with the 6 pack was worth it!!!

Crazy Italian: You mean my husband? Nah….in the pool, I only have eyes for my daughter. Men usually trip over looking at me though ๐Ÿ˜‰

Boring Malaysian: My dear. I think the fall may have somewhat caused a slight concussion in your head. I’m worried about you. Better get it checked soon to stop further poolside delusions.

Crazy Italian: For your info, my husband is very fit now thanks to the exercising. Go back to your breastfeeding, my dear, and worry about your own descent into madness. By the way, my brain is not in my wrist ๐Ÿ˜›

Boring Malaysian: Oh, I wasn’t suggesting your husband at all. It was your delusions about men looking at you! Yes, admittedly breastfeeding is making me quite mad….more so that MIL is now in town. What a nightmare.

Crazy Italian: Don’t be jealous, Darling. You will someday go back to your pre-Tee weight and turn heads too ๐Ÿ˜›

Boring Malaysian: I make an entrance even now without being my pre-Tee weight and you should know me long enough to know I never get jealous.

……..and so our rubbish talk continues……across the oceans whenever we have some free time, which is very rarely. But when it does happen, at least I get some happy cells, smile and laugh lots.

My Italian friend, we both have 2 very intelligent daughters of the same age but we are never in competition. She completely looks after our best interest at all times and is close enough to me to say anything to my face, even when and if the truth hurts. I trust her implicitly and likewise. We both are very private, serious women. Yet, we can also both be completely psychotic. I love her to death and wish I had more friends like that.

  1. You are very lucky to have a friend like this. I wish my good friend who lives in Sweden would have that much time to share msgs like this… different time zones, and she just had her #2, and now back to work….but whatever it is, we both know that we will always have each other…at least, we have Facebook to communicate….:)
