Asking for help

Posted on August 10, 2010August 3, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
Ever since I was old enough to comprehend the concept of help, I have been practicing it without much thought, from doing my classmates homework for her at Standard One (although I probably didn't know then that I wasn't actually helping her!) to playing the.......click to learn what next.

Do you know a stripper?

Posted on August 6, 2010August 6, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
Another breed of people I cannot stand are those strippers. The ones who strip you with their eyes, up and down, top to toe, to suss out if they are worthy of talking to you. Their eyeballs reach out to your watch label.......click to learn what next.

Do you know a social climber?

Posted on August 6, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
Unfortunately, there are many, many social climbers in KL. Our culture is such that many Malaysians kow-tow to people who are more wealthy, people who have more titles, people who know more people, blablablabla.....Seriously. Take a look around you and tell me you.......click to learn what next.

Playing around with blog templates

Posted on July 30, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
Now that we need to be more serious about money, this blog can no longer be my playground. I need to take it to the next level and allow it to generate more income. Thus it has to at least look somewhat more.......click to learn what next.

Lose your baggage when you fly Malaysian Airlines

Posted on July 30, 2010July 26, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
I am severely pissed and deeply saddened. This is our 3rd encounter with disappointment over this air carrier. The 1st was when they broke T1's stroller and only compensated us RM200 when it cost RM800 to buy a new stroller. The 2nd was.......click to learn what next.

Designing website themes

Posted on July 29, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
Theme designers should always do a print screen of their designed themes and then co-relate it to the html style sheet so bloggers like me (the dumb ones) can re-style it to suit our moods. And right now, I'm in a pretty foul.......click to learn what next.

A friend in need is a friend indeed

Posted on July 22, 2010July 22, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
Now, how many people do you know would give up their day home from work just to take care of your kids instead of spend quality time with their own, just so you could have a break? I don't remember having a break.......click to learn what next.

Should babies watch TV?

Posted on July 19, 2010July 14, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
When T1 was a baby, I allowed her to watch those Baby Einstein videos that were supposed to stimulate babies. Those days, they weren't available in KL and we had to either purchase them overseas or stole them from friends. At some point,.......click to learn what next.

Public Kitchens

Posted on July 15, 2010July 11, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
I shan't tell you where this is but I took a picture because it got me thinking about public kitchens and why it is just always best to eat at home. In my lifetime, I've worked in exactly 3 restaurants and let me.......click to learn what next.

Giving without expecting

Posted on July 10, 2010July 10, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
For the longest time, my mother has been trying to teach me this very big lesson, and after so many years of living, I must say that I still struggle with it. It is not that when I buy someone something, I expect.......click to learn what next.

My ambition to be a Doctor

Posted on July 8, 2010July 8, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
I always wonder what life would be like now if I had followed my heart to be a doctor and not an architect. Majority of my college mates became doctors and I really would have gone with them had I not been so.......click to learn what next.

The kind of mother I want to be

Posted on July 8, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
A gracious one! Certainly easier said than done........ I'd like to be a Mom who is always supportive of my daughters, one who will never say I told you so, why didn't you listen to me, who's fault is that? Yeah, I'm not.......click to learn what next.

The importance of sleep in children

Posted on July 8, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
According to Doctor Marc Weissbluth, a children's sleep expert, and the late Tracy Hogg, who was my life saviour for T1 (and the best book I'd recommend for every new mother), most people underestimate the importance of sleep in children. Especially in Asia,.......click to learn what next.

Developing compassion in children

Posted on July 6, 2010July 4, 2010 by Mamapumpkin
One of the very important things children need to learn from the start is to have empathy and compassion. According to the fabulous book above, children who have a higher emotional quotient get ahead in life at a much faster pace and go.......click to learn what next.

RSS A Mother’s Monologue

Mamapumpkin

I love green Once upon a time, she designed buildings and interiors of corporate offices and on the rare occasion, homes. Then, she cleaned poop and became a student of a patience management course. From the drawing board as a London Architect to the realities of Motherhood, she has certainly learned many lessons in humility. And then others.....

To succeed in the corporate world, first succeed with your kid as the happy boss. Seriously.

Fast forward 20 years later, Mamapumpkin has retired her husband from full time employment, living on passive income and abundance and has never felt so happy and fulfilled in her whole entire life. She now realises that all the pain and setbacks, the cruelty and the evil, which seriously nobody has to endure, was her stepping stone to where she now is and who she has become.

She has no regrets and would walk exactly the same path if given the chance again.

I love green

This blog is about Mamapumpkin: A strong, kick-ass Mom who worked full time juggling several jobs - the full-time paid job, the raising of her 2 kids (she gets paid in kind for this) and the volunteering job for various charity organisations and parenting websites. Needless to say, she got very little sleep (3-5 hours per day, Margaret Thatcher who used to sleep 4 hours per day during her conservative career inspires this crazy lifestyle).

Mamapumpkin intended to change the working Mom landscape in Malaysia where working women could bring their children to the corporate office of a client and not be frowned upon.

Today, she wants to show all women that if she can, YOU TOO CAN. She will guide you if you need that guidance. She will lend you that belief if you don't yet have it. She will show you every step of the way how you can do it. Her next decade is about raising the lives of as many families as she can.

I love green

Mamapumpkin writes about anything that comes out of her head but mostly seeks to inspire and share about all things that will bring benefits to others from her knowledge and experience.

Her 2 girls used to drive her towards challenge after challenge, 24/7.....day after day.....and interestingly, in her past life before her awakening, her parents were Muslim, her in-laws Buddhist, she was a Catholic and her Hubs, an Atheist. She's thinking her kids should be Hindu, just to complete the rainbow religion cycle.

Today, she believes in ONE GOD and HE overpowers ALL RELIGION because religion is really Man's interpretation of the downloads. She however, has had an incredible experience with GOD. That formless substance, that Creator, that omnipresent highest form of energy, the ALL, the Spirit, and many more labels humans have called Him.

Gotta love it.

She'd love to hear from you : Mamapumpkin at gmail dot com
