My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean….

Posted on June 23, 2007 by Mamapumpkin
Tee and I are guessing the tunes on her little laptop. She presses an alphabet and a familiar tune screeches. This makes it a reasonable game, guessing tunes. Then suddenly, I am lost for words because I just cannot make out the next.......click to learn what next.

The perils of Asian pregnancy & after-birth superstitions

Posted on June 22, 2007 by Mamapumpkin
Heave-Ho! Where do I start? This tag came from The I'mPerfect Mom. Living in Malaysia and coming from a half-Chinese family, I am grateful that I wasn't subjected to the customary strict pregnancy and after-birth confinement rules since my own mother was a hot, modern.......click to learn what next.

Trouble at the break of dawn

Posted on June 22, 2007 by Mamapumpkin
Before the alarm clock went off this morning, whilst we were all still deep in slumber. Or so I thought,  "Mummy?" I heard a whimper, opened my eyes in the dark and looked at Tee. Her eyes were closed. Was it my imagination? Without.......click to learn what next.

Did I not tell you I was different? A face behind the name – young Big Pumpkin exposed.

Posted on June 22, 2007 by Mamapumpkin
Disclaimer notice:  I must clarify that this was taken several years ago, pre-baby. Pre-Little Tee. Everything has gone downhill since then. I have fed myself an additional 20 kilos from stress and emotional trauma. So please, please, please....... don't faint when you meet me one day.......click to learn what next.

Grandmothers and Grandaughters – Part 5 of 6

Posted on June 22, 2007 by Mamapumpkin
My mother and Tee can talk. They can REALLY talk. They can talk for a really long time with words that politically spew out like slick. They both have Indian blood. And Indians are known to be 'good' talkers. Their minds are also blade.......click to learn what next.

A fun kind of exasperation

Posted on June 21, 2007 by Mamapumpkin
In the Lee household, we subconsciously practise a lot of negative parenting which we are not proud of. But believe me, if you had OUR pumpkin to deal with, you'd think twice before judging. It's always don't climb, be careful or you'll spill, don't.......click to learn what next.

Toddler bedtime routine

Posted on June 21, 2007 by Mamapumpkin
Our bedtime routine is somewhat comparable to a Formula One pit-stop where everyone rushes at lightning speed to get a job done, except that in our case, the whole Ferrari team is suddenly hit with a bad case of food poisoning. Lightning jolts of.......click to learn what next.

WILY WAYS WITH THE MALE SPECIES You read right! This is sure confirmation that Tee is of the lineage that my Mother strung along. Somewhere along the line, there is a gene named 'Talent with Men'. Genealogy doesn't fail. We don't have any.......click to learn what next.

GOOD GENES Tee and her Nana both have good genes. I got the bad ones. They are naturally pretty and photogenic. They have faces magazines and TV Commercials hunt for. My Mother did many TV Commercials and Advertisements in her younger days and.......click to learn what next.

Grandmothers and Grandaughters – Part 2 of 6

CHEEKY My Mother is cheeky. So is Tee. I do not posess the inborn naughtiness these 2 souls have. My Mother would teach Tee to pull the leg hair of my stepfather and Tee would do just that, then run away giggling. Followed.......click to learn what next.

THE LOVE FOR JIGSAW PUZZLES Do you know how sometimes kids skip a generation and all the traits you, as parents didn't inherit, your child does? This is exactly what has happened with Tee. She is best buddies with my Mother, which makes.......click to learn what next.

Less important than a HKD30 T-Shirt

Posted on June 14, 2007 by Mamapumpkin
That would be me. We have purposefully taken up travel insurance for hospitalisation overseas just in case Tee or myself, God forbid, needed some medical attention during our holiday. Just before leaving for the airport, I am reminded anxiously if I have packed.......click to learn what next.

Mamapumpkin

I love green Once upon a time, she designed buildings and interiors of corporate offices and on the rare occasion, homes. Then, she cleaned poop and became a student of a patience management course. From the drawing board as a London Architect to the realities of Motherhood, she has certainly learned many lessons in humility. And then others.....

To succeed in the corporate world, first succeed with your kid as the happy boss. Seriously.

Fast forward 20 years later, Mamapumpkin has retired her husband from full time employment, living on passive income and abundance and has never felt so happy and fulfilled in her whole entire life. She now realises that all the pain and setbacks, the cruelty and the evil, which seriously nobody has to endure, was her stepping stone to where she now is and who she has become.

She has no regrets and would walk exactly the same path if given the chance again.

I love green

This blog is about Mamapumpkin: A strong, kick-ass Mom who worked full time juggling several jobs - the full-time paid job, the raising of her 2 kids (she gets paid in kind for this) and the volunteering job for various charity organisations and parenting websites. Needless to say, she got very little sleep (3-5 hours per day, Margaret Thatcher who used to sleep 4 hours per day during her conservative career inspires this crazy lifestyle).

Mamapumpkin intended to change the working Mom landscape in Malaysia where working women could bring their children to the corporate office of a client and not be frowned upon.

Today, she wants to show all women that if she can, YOU TOO CAN. She will guide you if you need that guidance. She will lend you that belief if you don't yet have it. She will show you every step of the way how you can do it. Her next decade is about raising the lives of as many families as she can.

I love green

Mamapumpkin writes about anything that comes out of her head but mostly seeks to inspire and share about all things that will bring benefits to others from her knowledge and experience.

Her 2 girls used to drive her towards challenge after challenge, 24/7.....day after day.....and interestingly, in her past life before her awakening, her parents were Muslim, her in-laws Buddhist, she was a Catholic and her Hubs, an Atheist. She's thinking her kids should be Hindu, just to complete the rainbow religion cycle.

Today, she believes in ONE GOD and HE overpowers ALL RELIGION because religion is really Man's interpretation of the downloads. She however, has had an incredible experience with GOD. That formless substance, that Creator, that omnipresent highest form of energy, the ALL, the Spirit, and many more labels humans have called Him.

Gotta love it.

She'd love to hear from you : Mamapumpkin at gmail dot com
