Camp 5 at One Utama

We love going to Camp 5 at One Utama – it is a GREAT activity rock climbing and even as a spectator, it is an enjoyable sport. Plus they have a nice cafe and a boulder for kids to play. Something for everyone, even the lazy ass Mama…..well, someone has to watch T2! Bring your kids. It’s super highly recommended.

We had an excuse to go because my nephew came from Oz to stay with us so we brought him – rock climbing Malaysian style. By the way, I just found out that T1’s school has a rock climbing facility – wow! She’s trying to get me to buy those coloured things to screw onto the walls at home. Soon there’ll be spider girls all over……and more trips to the hospital, no thank you!

My T1 is so, SO brave. I’ve tried this and my ass is just too heavy. My arms aren’t strong enough so after climbing a bit, I’m TIRED! Plus it is hell looking down if you’re afraid of heights. I’m not usually afraid of heights but I definitely am now.

T1 made her rock climbing debut this year with a team of adults.

Her last 3 climbs over the years were always with her friends, all little people. First, they did some warm ups on Level 1 just to get all the first timers to try out rock climbing.

.

Then they moved on to the real thing. This may look easy. It is not. For me, anyway! Here, looking down is already super scary!!!

.

They then proceeded to Level 3, even HIGHER!!!

.

.

And finally, I was quite surprised when the coach asked T1 to go on the wall with the mechanical harness.

This means you are totally dependent on a machine to keep you safe if you fall. Abseiling at its best! Just so you know, I’ve done abseiling before and was very good at it. I was also 12 then. Heh!

.

T2’s playground whilst Che-Che climbed…….

.

Inside the boulder there is stairs to climb up and down which is what she did, her favourite past time.

.

Bring your kids to Camp 5 at One Utama – they will love it! It is also a great place to hold a corporate event or get your office team members over for some team building! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves that day.

  1. Was Googling “Camp 5 One Utama” when I found your blog. Awesome thrilling fun, in a safe and controlled environment. A good place to go on the weekends when I don’t feel like dealing with guano, centipedes and leeches. Your daughter is really very brave and strong. I couldn’t have done that at her age!
