Best chicken rice in Chiang Mai

This chicken rice deserved its own post – LOL

One morning in Chiangmai, it was decided that the men go cycling (3 hours in the city – they are MAD!) and the ladies visit the jewelers. This is what both parties wanted to do short of my crazy female cousin who wanted to join the men cycling and then a few men who had to babysit because they were not given a choice. Heh.

The Olympic cycling team. We were sure they’d pass out and need Thai Ambulance but wow! They really shocked us!!! Very impressive. They didn’t give up and completed the whole cycling route and although they were very exhausted after the ride, they felt a great sense of achievement. Well done, guys! Well done, despite age and the bursting pot bellies. Well done, indeed!

The ladies posing outside the hotel…….and if you didn’t count 23 heads, it is because the rest were still stuck upstairs in the hotel rooms either putting on make-up or finishing off their morning poo. And who knows what else???

And then in the jewelery shop. My God, we spent like 3-4 hours in there!!! I was BORED!!! The shop keeper was happy. They even bought a pair of emerald diamond earrings that the shop keeper was wearing – see how desperate women who love jewelery are??? It was a beautiful pair of earrings, I must say…..

After the tiring oohing and aahing over jewelery, we finally made it to lunch – The Best Chicken Rice in Chiang Mai!!! (according to the Thai). I thought the chicken was so small and skinny, not enough to eat…..

We had the honour of booking out the entire coffee shop.

Lovely chicken stock with no ajinomoto. We did not feel thirsty after this meal.

My 11 year old cousin had 6 bowls of rice because it was that good. And I really am not lying.

After lunch whilst taking T2 for a walk, I caught a familiar figure standing across the busy road from the chicken rice coffee shop. And when I zoomed in, I realised it was Tok-Tok! What the heck was he doing opposite the road standing all by himself??? We hollered out to him and he waved back, gesturing that he needed to smoke a cigar. Apalah! He looked like a prostitute waiting for his next victim!

After chicken rice, we all went back to chill. After all, it had been go-go-go all the way in Chiang Mai…..I walked out to look for a laundry place since I’d under-packed. Oops.

Street scene 200m away from the hotel. There was a Tesco, a 7-11, a fish spa, a Starbucks, some bakeries…..I guess, quite a good location but until today, I have no idea where the hotel is in relation to Chiang Mai town. Oops.

I decided to try out some sausages that they were selling on the street. They were AWESOME. Eaten with fresh chilli padi. To die for. Really.

And back to the hotel….this was our Receptionist of the day. The funny thing is, my brother kept telling us that he couldn’t tell a female from a she-male and we took the piss because how was he going to find a girl in Chiang Mai if he couldn’t tell which was which??? My MIL could immediately tell, she claims she is an expert in such things. Half of us could tell and half of us couldn’t. I honestly wouldn’t have known better if I hadn’t been told. But the funny thing is, one of the men within us let on that he’d actually been caught previously thinking the chick he had was a real chick and she turned out to be not a real chick. Ahahahahaha…..the joys of Chiang Mai……

  1. Real is fake, fake is real! I just saw a gorgeous woman in a cafe alone and she was toooooo pretty that I got puzzled about ‘her’ real sex! :p

  2. your MIL could immediately tell because her hands were …. err… checking out some parts of the body?? that’s certainly a sure way to tell.

  3. ..so was this receptionist a she-he or a he-she it?…(WT???) The olympic cycling team and the ladies pics didn’t upload properly, but the food ones did! For my (and my tummy’s) benefit!…what a yummy post!

  4. “A pot belly in middle age dramatically raises the risk of Alzheimer’s”, reports the Daily Mail. Men and women who have “large stomachs in their 40s are three times more likely to suffer serious mental decline when they reached their 70s”, the newspaper adds. ,
