Being a strong leader is something I have been pondering of late because as an employee for 15 years, despite having staff under me, I always had a boss to report to in corporate and at worst case, there is still the boss!

By default I have been thrown into being a leader from my previous business in network marketing and because I had terrible role models as leaders, I was unsure of my reality. Is this really the way to do business? Do we go around over-promising bullshit to innocent people? Do leaders in network marketing lie? Do we steal from our own teams and leaders? It was such a huge learning curve for me.

I truly know now that the values that my Mom raised me with were real and true.

I am now reviewing the culture and values that I wish to uphold as a strong leader and it is one from a space of humility, not commanding my tribe to do all these things but following them behind right at the back spurring them on with their own realisation and inspiring them just by how I live my true authentic life. No bullshit.

Being a strong leader is not easy. You cannot please everyone so there will be people in your circle who think you are crap as a leader because you are not doing what they want you to do. But strong leaders are not meant to be people pleasers. I think I was too much of a pleaser in the past and that has led me to become a weak leader where people stepped all over me. We live and learn, eh?

Being a strong leader is imperative now that my tribe is growing at such a phenomenal rate. I have to put what I stand for in place and systems in order as we free more and more women from their struggle. Together we stand united. I am so blessed to have great women working hand in hand with me.
