and sometimes Hell….

My little T2, as of 2 nights ago, has started sleeping with Daddy alone in attempt to wean her off the boob. On the first night, I heard her crying behind 2 closed doors and my heart got twisted in all kinds of knots imaginable, and for a million times it played in my head if I should go and rescue her from her harsh master but I knew he had locked the door. He knows how weak I can be with babies…..

The 2nd night, however, there was no crying or perhaps I was totally zonked out that I didn’t hear any. I’ll check on status later. (update: night 1 – woke at 3am, night 2 – woke at 530am; progress!!!)

My T2 is now very mobile and I’m having to watch her 24/7. This means even less time for us as she wants to go places and explore! She’s figured out by herself how to open drawers and even open cupboard doors. Dang! We never had that problem with T1. T1 lived in a totally un-child-proofed house and she was fine. She even listened to me when I said no touching, no entering the kitchen and to think we had KNIVES at the bottom drawer in the kitchen! She was great, my T1. Perhaps I was much free-er then to watch over her and kept her entertained, oh how we were so busy having playdates those baby T1 days. T2 is a whole different ball game.

T2’s even jammed her baby fingers in the drawers but has she learnt? NO! She wants to open MORE drawers and find MORE stuff. So much stuff to explore! And she is so determined. And if she doesn’t get her way, she lets out a LOUD scream. It’s not really an irritating scream but more of a loud scolding. Yeah, she is only a baby but boy, can she scold. Like a real mother hen. Her expressions and body language spells it too.

And as devil as she is, she is also the cutest little angel. Whenever she likes something, she’d bob her head continuously nodding and smiling. And communicating in her babble of gibberish. It’s cute beyond imagination. She follows us wherever we go and knows the home inside out. If we walked away, she’d complain and quickly come after us. Obviously not a loner. If she happens to miss us walking away, she’d go wandering to look for us. She even knows how to pull herself up onto a door and start banging it if I were to lock myself in a room *grins*.

As cheeky as she is, she has that glinty eyed smile that has never failed to melt my heart into mush. Especially when she has done something wrong and I raise my voice at her, she’d stop and look at me all doe-eyed and innocent, as if to say, sorry, can we be friends again? It’s those eyes, I’m telling you. And then when I melt and hug and kiss her, before you know it, she’s pushing her limits to try that naughty stunt again. All over again! She’s like that bad boyfriend your mother never wanted you to have! The one you could never let go off! Urgh!

And it’s hilarious how she knows every time she watches me get ready to go out, she’ll start babbling don’t forget me, Mama, don’t forget me!!! She gets all excited that we’re going out but yet worried because sometimes Mommy gets all dressed and then leaves her behind! So yes, of course she has to remind Mommy that I need to bring her out too and she does this by bobbing her entire baby body up and down with her arms up as if to say, pick me! pick me up now! And can anyone resist? Oh gosh, no…..you go ahead and try. I’ll place my bets.

“Oh, T2….soon we will be going to Australia and Mommy does hope you will not be too fussy and eat the food there. Because I cannot imagine boiling porridge for you every day when we are out and about doing Che-Che’s activities all day! So please, please be a good girl, OK”

My baby T2, she really is a little darling and I love her so much.
