Around the world in 80 days

No, I think that would be a bit unrealistic with the Hubs’ working hard and the girls’ school. We do randomly ‘ponteng’ school quite a bit (as I do not believe that school is the be all and end all as I probably educate them even more out of school, and I do not believe that us ‘ponteng-ing school will result in my teaching the kids not to be responsible adults as I have other lessons to counteract that) but to ‘ponteng’ for 4-6 months at a go, I think would be a stretch. So I’m not quite sure yet how we’re going to do this but let’s start by listing the cities that we plan to explore……

One thing I find really sad is that the Hubs refuses to travel to India or China or any other ‘what he considers’ 3rd world countries. He’s such a SNOB!!! I’ve asked him countless times to follow us to Myanmar. He is just NOT interested. So it is a definite that we won’t be visiting India or China. With him anyway. I’m still working on the Asean countries but it’s not working well. Even going with his parents to Cambodia, he says he’s not interested. Bah.

New Zealand – 7 days

Singapore – 3-4 days

Tokyo – 7 days

Hawaii – 3 days

USA/Canada – 7 weeks – 3 days San Francisco – 3 days Yosemite – 3 days Death Valley – 3 days LA Disneyland – 4 days LV Grand Canyon – 5 days Phoenix – 3 days Houston – 5 days Chicago – 2 days Ann Arbor Detroit – 1 day Pittsburgh – 3 days Washington DC – 1 day Philadelphia – 7 days New York/Long Island……to be continued to include Canada to visit Topaz  🙂

Middle East – 8 days

African Safari – 5 days

Europe – now here’s the interesting continent. We want to see so much of it that it is impossible to do it at one go so we’re going to split it for the first round and then return if the desire hits, and I am sure it will as we have so many friends and family there; just like Australia……and the US.

For the first leg of Europe, we would travel the 1st world countries (Hub’s favourite destinations since he needs efficiency and hygiene) and cover France, Italy, Switzerland, Liechenstein, Luxembourg, the UK, Austria, Netherlands, Monaco and maybe Germany. On our 2nd leg, we’d do Spain, Portugal, Germany, Prague and Greece. This is why I need to work.

South America – 2 weeks

Russia, Scandinavia, Alaska, Iceland and the rest of the world – when and if the urge arises.

That’s 22 weeks at a minimum, 6 months to take a round the world trip if you really want to see places and not just fly from city to city. But we’re going to do it.
