A busy morning at Maju Junction Shopping Mall

Let me bore you with my day.

I should really be spending my time uploading more stuff for sale but I’m not in the mood so please bear with me.

The Hubs needed to go to the very high tech looking mall today to visit JPJ – Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalanraya (road transport office). After driving into the parking lot and noticing on every floor that they have a directory on each floor informing visitors where each office is, we realised that we hadn’t come across a JPJ signboard. There was JPN, Immigration and the rest. But no JPJ!!!

Crap.

Where the hell should we head to then if there was no JPJ at Maju Junction?

We knew there were branches at Setapak, Putrajaya and there used to be one at Pusat Bandar Damansara but they were all locations out of the way, and we weren’t even sure if the D’sara one was still there. So after going round and round the parking lot on every floor and seeing no evidence of JPJ being there, I tried googling JPJ branches. I did not get an answer. I tried getting into the JPJ website. It was all in Malay and I could not access the English site from my phone. What I could see was Dasar Privasi dan Keselamatan, Hakcipta, Penafian, Cadangan and Peti Laman. So where in one of those titles do I search for their office locations???

I tried them all and it took blinking forever. I did not get an answer. I gave up and tried googling JPJ in Maju Junction and voila! There was something about JPJ in Maju Junction! It was the tenant list of Maju Junction. We were so pleased. So finally, we parked and went in search for JPJ. The office was as quiet as a mouse and the staff must have been bored to tears as they all started playing with T2 and offered her biscuits. She must have been the highlight of their day. Moreover, the monkey baby insisted on sitting on a particular cushioned blue chair in front of the officer when it wasn’t our turn yet. We took her to the waiting chairs (metal) but she kept fussing and pointed to the blue chair. Finally, I decided, oh sod it. I’ll just plonk her on the blue chair which is when she shut up and started smiling and then the staff all came over to play with her.

We were out in no time as there was NOBODY. Yippee! If you want fast JPJ services, that would be the place to go! Next stop? Maxis Service Centre at Maju Junction to find out when they were going to return us our deposit since we’d switched to Digi.

I find the mall disappointing because the tenant mix is so…..I can’t find the word for it. But in that location, I guess the market doesn’t serve the more popular brands. They had all the fast food outlets like Kenny Rogers, KFC, Pizza Hut and a food court, a Japanese restaurant, a Chinese restaurant and they had people like The Body Shop, FOS, Guardian Pharmacy, Giant Supermarket and look what I found??? An ESPRIT OUTLET!!! I never knew there was an ESPRIT outlet in KL! I thought they only had it in Australia and Hong Kong but if you want reduced prices of Esprit clothes and old stock all at discounted rates, then head on to Maju Junction!!!

The Hubs noticed Nasi Kandar Penang just across the road so we quickly decided to cross the very busy road with baby and all rather than eat at Maju Junction.

And again, the Nasi Kandar Penang staff and owner played with T2 whilst we ate. This baby seemed to attract a lot of attention everywhere we went today! Look at her putting her leg on the table. That is so not allowed in our house. But when I scold her, she puts two legs on the table. Scold her again, leg still goes up on the table. I was too hungry to bother after the third time and just let her have the biscuits that the JPJ staff had given her. A whole packet!!!

And look what she did with them???

This is what we had for lunch. That place is good!! Unfortunately, I had to take this tofu dish which is so Chinese and does not go with Nasi Kandar at all but I took it for T2 and guess what? She didn’t want it. She wanted curry rice instead. *faint*

This is what the Hubs ate…….the both of us polished our plates clean *grins*

And once we drank our last drop of teh tariks, we crossed back to Maju Junction and headed to pickup some forms from T1’s doctor at Sea World. You didn’t know there was Sea World in KL? I am really enlightening you today, aren’t I? Sea World…..

.

.

.

And finally, we picked our dearest T1 up from school and headed home.

I apologise for boring you with my day. Sekian rangkaian tergendala…..

  1. I don’t understand the Sea World part. Do we have to translate Sea World to Malay or what?

Ewww, I hate strangers touching my kids. So dirty!! Malaysian staff are so “friendly” or rather “free” that they like to play with people’s kids. Here, they don’t cincai touch the kids. I especially hate it when strangers touch the cheeks/ face area. Gross!!!
