A GREAT Birthday Party in KL

The BEST kiddy birthday parties are always the ones at home organised by Mom with as little money as possible. Truly. Of course, not all of us Moms are able to give that to our kids or like myself, just haven’t managed to get round to it yet!

But for me, having Mom go about a busy day organising MY birthday party would do it for me. I’d be seriously chuffed. Really. Last year, we were fortunate enough to be invited for one such party.

T1 meeting her old school friends from her previous school. Is this how kids greet each other these days?

.

The party started with an aged old traditional game of chicken and fox where the fox catches the Mother Hen’s little chicks? Remember that? The kids had so much fun laughing and screaming an inadvertently, some fell onto the ground, so they stopped the game.

.

They then traipsed along to the back in preparation for another aged old game. These games really brings back childhood memories in school for me.

.

We used to play this game at the badminton courts or was it the basketball courts with the lines and we were supposed to run across without getting caught. Remember?

.

Then the kids had a blast blowing bubbles at their free will.

.

So cute sitting on the brick wall……

This was a great photo of the kids all sitting on the brick wall blowing their bubbles!!!

.

T2 was snatched from me by an uncle because he wanted to carry a baby and she did not like it one bit.

.

So I rescued my grumpy baby back and she was really weary after that.

.

Later, the kids had some chalk art, really swinging it like the rappers doing graffiti in The Bronx.

And T1 was really happy because she LOVES drawing…….

.

A surprise treat – ICE LOLLIES!!!! Another aged old treat!!!

Even T2 had some! Don’t I just look like a SUMO wrestler with those arms? Watch out. I can kill you with one blow. Seriously. Thank you, Pauline, for taking that photo. My arms look much worse more muscular in real life.

.

And finally, the cake. Home baked cake. The absolute best.

But to organise a party like this takes plenty of time and effort! But oh, so worth it, don’t you think? Why do we need to impress everyone with parties at hotels paying tens of thousands to event organisers when the kids can have just as much fun with a hundred bucks? Seriously now, if you can afford the thirty thousand, why not give it to some poor starving kids instead? Well, that’s me and some of them will say, but we already do…….and we go on and on and on.

  1. Hahahahah… is that a big hint or what?

I must say, having parties at home, takes a huge amount of effort and planning! It seems so much easier to get it organised outside..but then again, like you say, money flows out like water.

Or as you also say, it’ll look good on ‘them’.
