Pissed off with the Malaysian Government!!!

So call it bad luck or what have you but I lost my Identity Card the day I went to the zoo with Annie and gang. The zoo counter asked me for my IC so I got it out and handed it to them with payment. I then got back two tags for T1 and me and a receipt. Me being blur as blur can be, what more it was 9am in the morning, before coffee, oh, the sacrifices I make for my kids! I hadn’t noticed that I had not gotten my IC back nor did it even occur to me that the counter girl still had it. We went about our day having fun at the zoo and a wonderful lunch with wonderful company ladidadida…..

2 days later, I was required to show my IC for some other reason and that is when I realised, shit! My IC is still at the zoo! I called them immediately and called and called non-stop until someone picked the phone up. I wasn’t about to drive all the way to the zoo only to discover that they didn’t have it. I told them my predicament and they said it was a common problem they had, people always leaving their ICs at the zoo…….well, why frigging ask for them in the first place then! Do you know it is illegal for anyone to hold your IC? Obviously, I wasn’t smart enough to just SHOW it to them but handed it over to them instead!!! MISTAKE NUMBER ONE.

The zoo couldn’t find my IC. They said they’d keep looking and called me back 2 days later to say that they still couldn’t find it. Gone with the wind. This meant I had to make a police report. So off I went in the hot squelching sun with 2 kids to the police station, queued till it was my turn and then made a police report. Excuse me whilst I go off tangent to warn you that if you live in Bangsar, then beware of crime as it is very prevalent. Foreigners (Indians, South Americans, Eastern Europeans even, and some Africans) are dressed well and driving around in posh cars now (stolen perhaps?). They scout around the residential area where the big houses are and watch. Nobody suspects a thing because they think they are just neighbours who live there but once they know you’ve gone out (they are always watching you, remember?), they will get in to attack the maids and steal whatever they can get their hands on. Very common. That is what I learned from my police station visit with the girls……

After each time we attend a Government agency in Malaysia, we need a few days to recuperate. Thus a few days later, we went to JPN to formally apply for a new IC since mine was stolen/lost. To them I’d lost it and had to pay the fine. To me it was stolen. Nevertheless, it was a grueling day out at JPN with 2 kids. Not fun at all. Why can’t they have a special lane at ALL Government agencies for mothers and children? You know the drill…..take a number, fill in some forms, sit and wait, visit the counter, pay, wait again, get your photo taken, wait again, get your thumb prints taken, wait again……..ladidadida………

VERY PAINFUL with kids.

A few days later, recuperated.

Now I’ve been needing to register a company for the last 2 months and have been trying my leveled best to do this online but what’s with Malaysian online Government sites, they make it so difficult! So, so difficult or maybe I’m just so dumb! And if it is not me turning my head sideways looking at the computer screen trying to figure out exactly what they are saying, sometimes I do head stands, the UNIFI will go off. Just like that.

Then I’d have to wait for my next chance to attempt this company registration thing all over again. Sometimes, I’d get there half way. It’s like walking through an Amazon Jungle maze, hitting a jackpot then realising you have to start all over. Repeat several times. And then your broadband goes off again. FARK. I finally decided I would do it manually. Their servers were probably not the most stable anyway. Just like everything else they do and purchase. The Malaysian Government. I have so much faith in them.

So after weeks of begging and pestering all the people I know to help take me to the company registration place, because God forbid, I really did not want to go to another Government Agency in Malaysia with 2 kids all by myself……but after weeks of rejection and excuses, I finally braved it myself this morning.

Ouch. OUCH. BIG OUCH!!!!

I was there at 10am. Got a number. Asked if I could register a company using my temporary IC, yes of course. Filled out a form. Waited. Entertained kids. Waited. Fed kids snacks. Waited. Handed in forms. Handed in my IC, paid the necessary blablablabla……After 3 hours, I thought it was over! But no……I was told, please come back in an hour to collect your company certificate. It was 1pm.

Well, the kids were hungry and so was I so we headed downstairs for some lunch. Good timing, I thought. An hour for lunch, then we pick up our cert and it’s done. Next step? Register my new domain. Yay!

Hold your horses.

Just as we were getting into the lift to go back up, I get a phone call from the Government Agency to say that they are rejecting my application. WTF?! Why didn’t they tell me earlier? Charged upstairs with tired cranky baby and whiny 6 year old because bless her, she’d been standing for 3 hours or more because do you think any of the merry Malaysians  cared to offer us a seat? Not a chance. They didn’t even hold the doors open for me despite me having a baby and a stroller. T1 had to struggle to PUSH or PUUUUULLLLLL the big, heavy doors each time whenever we had to go through one department to another section to another section. And sometimes, just sometimes, when a kind old man security guard caught side of the little girl struggling to open the door for her Mommy, he would help her out. Honestly, is it so hard? It was almost like 99% of Malaysians there were so bloody uneducated and rude. I suppose if you are uneducated, then you wouldn’t know any better. Thanks to the Government for wanting to keep Malaysians dumb so they can continue to squander large sums of money into their own pockets without being questioned too much.

At the counter, I was told that my application was rejected because they couldn’t verify my TEMPORARY IC. It was only a temporary IC, then why did the first counter girl tell me I could use a temporary IC to apply for a new company? People, my dear people, do you know that you have wasted 5 hours of my time, what about the cost of me having to make this entire trip – it is a bloody ordeal for me. What use is a temporary IC then, you tell me, if I cannot use it???

I was MEGA pissed.

I told them to call JPN to sort it out. They couldn’t because even if someone from JPN said OK, they needed it in writing. So I called JPN instead. Wow-wow-wow!!! I was told that since I was born in Singapore and since my thumb print didn’t match what was originally in their system, it would take at LEAST six months before I could even get a replacement IC.

Oh. My. God. T1 saw my face and just shut up the entire time after that. Have my thumb prints changed, or do you have a sub-standard machine that is unable to match the thumb prints?

The last I heard, most of your buildings were sub-standard despite you, the Government, paying phenomenally large sums of money for them. Just like the swanky Hospital, as an example. Don’t you think RM5 million per bed is a little steep? You know, my step father works for them now and all these little secrets are coming out one after another. It so frigging tears me apart. Why not I just jump into bed with them? If you can’t beat them, join them right? Why don’t I just tender for something with them guys? Hey! I could sell them some sub-standard rubbish and still get paid tons of money for it! After all, you scratch my back, I scratch yours…….bare in mind too that sometimes, it is middle management right up to the top. I still remember the day I was asked to pay RM500 to get my resume to the top pile at the HR Directors. I told them to f-off. Lots may be desperate to get a job with a money-making company but I wasn’t desperate enough to pay to get a foot in. But with all the money going into the wrong places, I’ll be surprised if they have money forever…..what with hiring top notch British architects to design their Universities et al.

This year, my stepfather had an operation and I asked him, why the hell are you not operating at your own hospital? He said NO WAY is he risking his life in there. Oh Lordy, what does that tell you? Even Tun prefers IJN. How?

So, to conclude, I am still mega pissed off with the Malaysian Government because a lot is going on that shouldn’t and us people, the rakyat have to suffer for it. And sometimes, I wonder……maybe I should just join them. Really. Because I am so sick of it. Someone of title or royalty or who just has plain lots of money may not have to go to JPN to get their ICs done, or their passports or their police reports. It is always done for them. Shall I go that route? NO!!!

So as it stands, I have no company registered and without a company registered, I cannot start my own domain with a bloody dot com dot my and so I am bloody mega pissed off.

  1. Oh dear, I’m sorry to hear about what you had endured. I am perhaps one of the lucky ones who managed to get my biz registered via SSM online, all without much glitches. I got my cert in my inbox less than 30 mins after hitting the submit button. Let me know if you need any walk thru on that ya.

  2. Why do u want to have a dot com dot my? dot com would be easier.

and UNIFI is just as bad???? huh!! Bloody streamyx!!!! Mine’s been ALWAYS BAD!!! all the bloody monopoly!

  3. Hey, you don’t need to file a police report for missing IC. I’ve got mine stolen 3 times. No kidding. I’ll show you the number behind my IC. You only need a police report for a driver’s license. So no need for IC, need for license, which means license is more important than IC. Wonderful logic isn’t it? Sorry to hear about the company registration. A bunch of dickheads. But what did you expect from a loons that have been spoonfed for half a century. Anything more than stupidity would be a surprise.

  4. OK…. IT IS PERTH or GRAVE!

Btw, we just cancelled mine yesterday and hubby told me it took him less than 10 mins to cancel.

Hopefully, things will get better at your end… *sigh* you poor soul.
Come to Penang and I’ll feed you glorious food to compensate all these boohoohoo

  5. off tangent abit, but thumbprints (and palm prints) do change as we grow old. That’s why our fates can change too. I thot IJN is govt owned? Or at least, they do give govt pensioners free services there?

yea..next time, just get a co sec to do all ur work. Better to pay, esp as you don’t have extra hands to help with your kids. Going with kids is always… like committing harakiri. Over and over again.

  6. But..I think despite your negative experiences, you now have bragging rights, to say, you did it all by yourself! 😀 look out for those silver lining!!

  7. i learnt something new today, u’re born in SG?! ok, side track a bit. geez, i do not understand why our governtment is so laid back – i feel so ashame being malaysians when i come across these type of ppl. sigh!

hope ur feeling much better now…i guess after this, you would want to definitely migrate huh!
