Life is precious

This evening, I shall be attending the funeral wake of one of my maid of honour’s relatives alone. Luckily, or rather coincidentally, the Hubs is ill today so he didn’t go to work and is available at home to take care of the kids. If he had gone to work, then no way can I go because it is raining now and by the time he comes home from work, it will be too late for me to go. My only worry is that I am totally unfamiliar with Glenmarie area! But I shall try my best finding the way with my Blackberry GPS.

He was a young man with young kids, contracted leukemia 2 months ago totally unsuspected and died yesterday. A friend of mine just had a stroke last week. She was younger than me. Another friend of mine, my age, had a 5 heart bypass last November and had to be bedridden for 3 months. They had to break open his ribcage in order to get to the heart.

The Hubs old classmate just died last month from liver failure.  Need I tell you more?

Life is precious. Live every day as though it is your last. Call everyone you love. Renew all ties that have been severed in the past. And stop worrying, stop stressing, stop being negative. Life is too short for that. Really. It is when you have really lost, that you realise just how precious life is. And you will then stop moaning about how bad your life is.

  1. sorry to hear about your friend’s loss. yes life is too precious but the thing is, we tend to easily forget this and go back to being stressed out with our daily lives until it’s too late.

  2. how true..I try to tell myself that life is too short to be stressed everytime i get pissed off with my MIL

  3. yeah, life is precious but unfortunately many of us only realise when we see ppl we know, just snap off suddenly. My colleagues 17yr old son passed away suddenly in Melbourne. Only child. The parents are so down and I just cannot imagine being in their shoes. So, life is fated, cherish it while we have one.

  4. This entry came at a rather apt time. Thanks for reminding me that all the stress in the world should not deter us from appreciating life and cherishing every moment we have.

Condolences to your friend and her family.
