Post Culinary Consumption Syndrome.

Over the last 9 days in Australia, I have been fed by different 5 cousins to be exact with their respective partners. This included fish and chips of the highest grade (think fresh out of water fish coated with crunchy, crispy battered skin and a drop of lemon, with juicy just out of the oven potato wedges, slightly burnt on the skin; topped with tartar and chilli sauce) which I discovered Tee absolutely loved. The two of us just couldn’t get enough of these Aussie fish and chips.

Priced anywhere between AUD8-20 (that’s USD6-15), I honestly think the both of us could survive on fish and chips alone. Or for a very long time at least as we had fish and chips for 6 meals. Now 6 meals sounds a small number but 6 meals within 9 days is quite a bit. We just couldn’t get enough of it!!!

I was also subject to a lot of Italian food cooked with fresh from the garden oregano, basil and parsley. Home made pastas, fresh creamy sauces cooked with fresher seafood, mushrooms, avocado and mango salads, fresh tomato bruschettas, cheesy-weezy Italian bread, cheesy-weezy oven baked Italian pizzas, cheese on toast, olives, rocket salad, crabs and mussels in tomato garlic sauce, and more tomatoes and cheese!

Then there was our local food which we just couldn’t stay away from. They tasted different in Perth anyway. Still good, just different. Char kuay teow, curry laksa, lobak, deep fried squid with chilli sauce, wanton noodles, Chinese fried rice, Japanese bento boxes and Indian curries.

Pancakes and crumpets with honey, scones with cream and jam (the best I’ve EVER tasted), lemon torte, sinful chocolate cake (which is really chocolate God knows what), gingerbread cookies with icing, chocolate (Oh My God, CHOCOLATE!!!), mint ice-cream with chocolate, bubble gum ice-cream, lots of lattes and more chocolate (Macadamia nut chocolates)……all added to my extra 5 kilos.

The best of it without a doubt was the home barbeque with 15 different salads laboriously concocted by my wonderful, matronly cousins. Juicy, succulent BBQ’d meat fanned by their Aussie partners. To perfection.

Did I eat all of that? Err…..yeah…..

Did I have a great holiday? You fucking bet!

Despite the PCCS.

Guess I’m going to be spending the next few days in the toilet.

  1. Contrary to false belief, liposuction can make your undesirable fat dissolve just like that. Undergoing plastic surgery makeover may be an ideal option for most. Of course, that does not mean that if your skin is not where you want it to be that there is no hope for you. Your best bet is to gain more understanding through research.
