The love Tee has for her Father and her Grandmother

Last night I baked some honey chicken from the lovely Jomel (see Chickie Delights on May 31st) and Tee LOVED it. She loved it so much that she asked for more and more and more. She finished her share, the rest of my share and still wanted more. I swear I have been feeding her well for the past week, OK? In case you had any ideas of me tying her over with cookies and bones. Yet she said her tummy could eat a whole car of that chicken.

So I suggested, OK let’s get some of Daddy’s share. Her face turned.

“But what will Daddy eat then?” she asked with earnest concern.

“It’s OK, we’ll just take a little bit.” I reassured her.

“I’m worried if Daddy has no more chicken….” Obviously she doesn’t trust me!

“Don’t worry, Daddy will have lots more. We’re just gonna take a little bit.” I continue my sales pitch.

“OK. But make sure he has some more chicken to eat. I don’t want my Daddy to starve.” Gosh woman, you are making me puke.

“OK.” I reassure her again with my charade.

Later, I told the Hubs about how thoughtful his daughter was and his head swelled with coconut water.

Arriving at my Mother’s apartment, Tee noticed very quickly that it wasn’t my Mother’s car parked in her parking lot. It’s the first thing she looks out for to tell if her Nana is home or not. She was visibly and vocally upset.

“Whose car is that?” she asks in rage.

“I don’t know. We’ll find out soon enough….” I reply.

“I’m sad. I don’t want that car there. Only my Nana can park there. That is my Nana’s parking lot.” the Drama Queen performance begins.

“I know. I wonder whose car that is.” also curious and a little pissed.

“I’m going to kick that car. That is MY Nana’s parking lot…” she starts crying.

I manage to distract her and we enter my Mother’s apartment only to find that the car belongs to my aunt. She got herself  a new car so we didn’t recognise it. Thank Heavens I didn’t encourage Tee to thrash it. *evil grin*

  1. Aawww… Tee is so thoughtful. Alycia is the exact opposite. Most of the time, she’d insist she wants to eat daddy’s portion and said “i want to eat all, daddy cannot eat”. Alamak!

Hee hee…What about Mummy? Share with Mummy or not?

  2. Please give the receipt for honey chicken…. I do remember it!!!!!!!!!

Elena, if you click on jomel (the link), you can find a nice recipe for honey chicken. If you still have any problems, let me know. Good luck – it’s delicious!
