Accident and Emergency at Hospital

It was my mother’s birthday yesterday and after a delicious chilli crab dinner, the Hubs and I proceeded to the hospital to check on the baby.

I had had a fall yesterday morning – slipped on a rug without a non-slip mat beneath. Very clever.

My lower abdomen was very painful but there was no bleeding. We went out to the shopping mall and I could barely walk due to the pain. Then we came home and I napped for 3 whole hours. It was a painful nap as I couldn’t move. Each move meant a knife would cut me inside. Then we went for dinner and I had to walk like I had an imaginary gym ball between my legs.

Not sexy.

Finally, we decided to get the baby checked out just to be safe. When the Doctor said he might have to admit me for observation, I willed the baby to be fine. The power of the mind!!

The Hubs said that this new baby would be exactly like Tee. I totally agree. At exactly the same time the year I was pregnant with Tee, I was at the very same delivery room, going through the same CTG procedures to check on the baby. After 2 whole hours of boredom, the Doctor set me free and told me I needed rest but the baby was fine.

Phew!

I’d probably sprained a muscle or something in my lower abs but my tough cookie inside has been disco dancing all day to music today. She’s going to be exactly like Tee.

  1. Me!! How much is the bet? 🙂

Hey woman, do take lots of care! Learn to walk like the Kings & Queens, 3-5 seconds each step. Precaution is always better than cure…

  2. Phew…thank God baby and u is ok. Fall down d, can still go shopping; if myself, I already visit my gynae.

  3. I’m glad you’re okay. I tumbled half way down the stairs when I was pregnant with Ashleigh. I was scared as hell but all was well. I was bawlin’ out of fear not because I hurt.

I just laid down for the rest of the day and relaxed. No bleeding or anything otherwise the worry of hurting the baby may have put me into labor
