Tee, my little trooper, was 6 months overdue for her MMR jab so off we trotted to the pediatrician last Saturday. We had to wait 2 entire hours!!!
Anyway, she was SO brave but I must say the Doctor who jabbed her had loads of experience. He just kept chatting to her discussing Barbie and Dora stickers and a nurse had her hand to block Tee’s view in case she turned her head and before we knew it, the Doctor had jabbed her and she didn’t even flinch!!! She was totally engrossed in all those stickers that she didn’t even feel a thing! How amazing is that?!
On the contrary, the Hubs went for a blood test last weekend and came out in agony. He was the first patient of the day and said that the bloody nurse was still sleeping when she jabbed him. He had a bruise that lasted 5 days after that.
I was told that the level of pain you get from an injection is dependent on the angle in which the syringe penetrates your skin. If it is 90 degrees to your skin, sorry………
