Who here fights with the husband? I am sure everyone at some point has a gripe or two (or many!). Choosing battles with your husband however, is a very wise choice; especially when it comes from someone who hardly has ANY battles with my husband.

My best friends know that I handpicked my husband exactly as I had desired. Our Chinese Astrologies were best matched. Our Western Astrology were best matched. We are two very compatible souls who can talk for 10 hours straight. BEFORE KIDS.

So if you told me there were going to be battles in this marriage, I would have laughed it off because the truth is, we are extremely YIN and YANG. He is the perfect sized glove that fits my hand. We know how to press the right buttons on each other whenever there is a slight disconnect.

He is truly my dream come true.

UNTIL.

I made so much money that I wanted him to quit his job to retire from full time employment so we could spend more time together as a family. Isn’t that what every family desired?

Apparently not.

The male ego was not ready to throw in the towel and as such, he kept resigning but kept accepting the bigger and better offers thrown back at him. I felt like I was at war with his company.

At some point, we had a full time driver and hubby only had to go into work half the week; and I knew then that the company had won. The job was too good for hubby to say no to.

There went my dreams of ever having him home. I had worked SO HARD over the last few years to make millions just so I could retire my husband, and there he was not wanting to be retired.

I wanted to divorce him.

My heart was broken.

I could no longer be with a man who would not choose me over his ego.

And it took THAT for him to finally retire……

So yeah! This was the only major difference we had as a happily married couple.

UNTIL.

Today, was the AGM at my residence and I flatly told hubby that he was NOT to take on any positions in the committee because I wanted him to start spending his time helping me with some technological issues. All he has done in these last 4 years is cook, walk the dog, drive the kids to school and have fun with his family. That is pretty much 3 hours of his day. It sounds brilliant and it is exactly what I wanted except that a lot of it can be done by our lovely helper…… but he wants to cook, so OK.

After 4 years of him having fun at home, I started feeling that we could be more productive because it does break my heart whenever I see someone who really needs help and I am unable to offer the extent of the help because my resources are expended every month, more so now that my daughter is studying in the USA costing triple of what would have cost had she gone to the UK.

Off he went for the AGM bright and early….HAPPY.

And in he walked rather sheepishly to announce that he was now the new Committee Member.

Did I hit the roof?

No.

I chose to choose my battles with my husband. Not that we have any….many……

Let him be the Committee Member but I will still request for his help with my tech.
