T1 is in the midst of iGCSE History where for the first time ever, the global examinations have been cancelled yet she is still trudging along with the studying to ensure a favourable outcome in this trying uncertain period of who knows what will happen next.
At the same time, she has been asking me why I pay a Personal Assistant to do work for me when she could very well earn to do a better job. Indeed she is my best PA to date and even cheaper at her student rate but I prefer her to focus on her iGCSE work even if there is no iGCSE. Poor girl. It must suck to have worked so hard for 12 A Stars only to be told that she no longer has the real opportunity to achieve it.
What does she do instead? She volunteers to make protective gear for our frontlines. Arghhhh. I have already been supporting this cause and I am happy to give money to help them but why does my daughter wish to inconvenience us to get this project going??? It just means leaving the house unnecessarily so she can fulfil her ‘project’. Anyway……….it is already in progress. We had to go get the materials for her today and she will deliver her handmade products in a couple of days.
These are things I have been doing for years, always the over eager helpful person until the burn got so dark that I no longer help anymore. I don’t even buy presents and gifts anymore because that is how unappreciated they have gone. For me, this act of bringing on smiles is no longer sexy. Yea, maybe if really warranted I’d do it but not just for everyone and anyone anymore; and that is just me being a big fat softy.
10 more days for MCO to be over. Will it really be over?
