ChiangMai – our family tradition

One of our family traditions is to have an annual holiday together with the extended family. For some reason, ChiangMai has always lured us back, year after year. We’ve been to other cities as well, but ChiangMai is just one place we will always come home to. For me personally, it is the food. Glorious, glorious food. Never in all my life, despite being well traveled, have I savoured such delightfully tasty cuisine as Thai. And not just Thai food, ChiangMai food. The food you get from ChiangMai is different from the food you get in Bangkok. It is enlaced with captivating flavours and heavenly aroma. Really!!!

Another reason I go back, is the amount of quality massages I can get for such affordable prices. If you know where to go, you can get a decent body massage for US5 and hour. I mean, if I lived here, I’d be having a massage every single day…….

And of course, if you have never been to ChiangMai, then at least 2 weeks is a must. We have been more than ten times and we almost know ChiangMai inside out. So should you decide to have a Holiday in Thailand, make sure you make a stop at ChiangMai because there is a certain charm that cannot be missed. There are some beach houses in Central Thailand that you can use as a base before embarking on splendid Thai adventures around the amazing country.

I love to travel in South East Asia because there is already so much to be savoured here before I need to set off further. And somehow, the experiences in Asia are much more pleasant, simply because there is great weather, amongst other things………
