Annie, the musical, we will be watching this weekend! I am so excited I can hardly contain myself. Last year, I suggested to the school to do Annie for their Annual Production and this year I am getting it!!! The school performed such a magnificent perfomance last year, in fact, they have been producing excellent shows year after year, some even better than the real Broadway I kid you not. These kids are so talented and kudos to the teachers who guide them to brilliant performances. So really, I cannot wait. A few of T1’s friends are performing on stage too and some playing in the live orchestra. T1 herself could not get a spot because quite frankly, she sings off pitch and cannot dance for peanuts. T2, however, is a natural when it comes to these kind of things, so it is very clear who each of the girls have taken after.
Annie, the movie, used to be my all time favourite show as a kid. Why? Because I pretty much felt like an orphan myself and could relate. My parents were never around at home so we grew up with maids and well, how stimulating are maids? They don’t really give a shit, mine didn’t anyway. So we were lonely kids. I loved Annie and could watch it over and over again. I have memorised all the songs in Annie and even my girls know most of the songs already. It is such a fun little girl show and now whenever T2 misbehaves, I will threaten to send her to the orphanage and very quickly she will fall in line. Hahaha. She knows I love her to bits and would never, ever send her to an orphanage.
If you have never watched Annie, you must. It’s going to be a fabulous weekend with Annie and the Swiss circus!
