It is amazing how much peanut butter my family consumes. We eat the Skippy Peanut Butter (both Chunky and Creamy) and all four of us devour it like crazy. The cost of one jar is about RM15 plus and it goes within a week max. At one point, BV sold it for RM22 and I said forget it.
One of the reasons I started on peanut butter was because I experimented and found that it sustained me longer than a bowl of oatmeal. Seriously. Plus it’s a lot quicker than slow cooked oatmeal. Heh. And I got wind from this chick that she eats a tablespoon of peanut butter when she has no time for breakfast, so I followed suit and hey, it worked!
However, peanut butter goes through a process of hydrogenation which produces trans fat, i.e. bad fat that clogs up your arteries and eventually your heart. We started looking at other options. My ex-Nanny being a great health advocate introduced me to Cosway’s Mildura Organic Peanut Butter but to date, I have not tried it. Another option perhaps?
Recently, I was introduced to Melrose Almond Spread which is just pure almonds……
It was amazing. There is a layer of oil at the top that you need to stir in before you load it up on your bread and it is not sweet, just full of healthy goodness. The only problem is it is a tad pricey and with 4 nut spread lovers at home, we could be nutting our way to the poor house.

They have an option called ABC spread, ideal for toddlers that is Almond, Brazil and Casher nut spread. Awesome!
It has been a difficult choice. Pay for health or pay for fashion? If we don’t pay for health, we’d be putting in junk, total crap into our bodies and then one day won’t even live long enough to enjoy the fashion. Agree?
