Cute expressions from a toddler

My T2 is relatively slow where it comes to speech development. She understands everything, she just has problems with pronunciations. But she has been progressing nevertheless, little by little, day by day, trying her levelled best to get her messages across with a lot of frustration.

One day, the two girls were fighting. They fight over everything trivial and seriously, it’s only because T1 wants to irritate the little bugger. And the problem is, T2 thinks that everything belongs to HER, so it’s always MY Mama, MY Dada, MY chair, MY house, MY car…..and so on.

“MY bed.”

“No, my bed.”

“MYYYYY bed!”

“No, my bed.”

“NO, MYYYYY BBBBEEEDDDD!!!!”

NO, MY bed!!!!!”

T2 suddenly waves her arm with pointed finger violently left to right,

“NO SHOUT!!! NO SHOUT!!!”

And T1 and I burst into cackles of laughter on the bed.

One day, the Hubs whilst driving, surprised the girls that he was taking them for ice-cream and immediately, T2 turned her head to T1 with bulging eyes and whispered very, very slowly and quietly, “wwwWWWOWWWwwww……..”

Again, T1 and I burst into hysterics. I’m so glad to have been able to witness my little comedian and her dramatic expressions.

After being in the car for too long (and we’re talking anything more than 15 minutes), T2 always gets impatient and requests for the driver to park the car.

“Dada! Park car! Park car!”

“Yes, soon. When we get there, OK?”

“Park car! Dada! Park car!”

“Yesssss…..soooon…..”

“Dada, park car! Park car!”

“Park where? We’re in a traffic light right now…..”

“Park car! Dada, park car!”

*Dada’s tone starts getting impatient now….*

“Park car and then do what, T2???”

“Row-Row Boat…..”

O_o

Recently at Kizsport, T2 was digging her Nanny’s Coach handbag (bless her, I wouldn’t let her near mine!) and eventually, she asked her Nanny for some nail polish because she wanted to paint her nails. This is after mucking up the Nanny’s lip balm…..

The Nanny said she didn’t keep nail polish in her handbag so T2 couldn’t put any nail polish on right now.

“Buy new one? Go buy now new one!!”

Whatever we don’t have, T2 will ask us to go and buy a new one. She totally understands the concept of shopping – that’s my girl.

Whilst on the subject of the Nanny, she told me after their Kizsport session that a few Moms at Kizsport who were minding their own kids (not the maids), kept asking her if her husband was Chinese and that T2 was GORGEOUS and she told them that T2 wasn’t hers! And the Moms said, “Oh? But she looks like you!”

*fall on the floor with legs in the air kicking and laughing*

T2 doesn’t have a single strand of blond hair, not even brunette and her hair is as black as black can be!!!

How many Moms actually mind their kids at Kizsport? Most just dump them there with maids short of those who cannot afford maids or those who actually value the workout with their kids as Quality Time?

This last week has been very stressful for me as the school holidays have turned up the stress button a notch higher and I’ve been getting daily headaches. Every night, I’ve been taking a Panadol because I cannot stand the severe pain any more after a whole day of going through the headaches. I think part of the problem is because I’m asthmatic and don’t get sufficient oxygen into the brain. The Hubs has been feeding me with Vitamins too as he is so worried that I get sick. If Mama is sick, the entire household goes into tornado mode.

Last night was no different and when I complained to the Hubs that I am having those headaches again, T2 came up to me innocently and gave me her quack remedy,

“Put ice head, Mama. Put ice head”, pointing to her own head. Bless her. She’s had so many falls on her head and every time she falls, I rush to the freezer for some ice. She’s so familiar now with the concept of ice for pain and swelling.

Sometimes, we ask her a serious question, like where is the remote control? or where is the cookie? she was holding a minute ago? Her reply would be a very adult like matter-of-fact “Don’t know?” with a shoulder shrug. Complete innocence, my arse.

Sometimes, we make statements or comments amongst each other as adults and the little eavesdropper would go, “Ohhhhhhhh……..” as though she understood every word.

What can I say? This is just the most adorable age of a little toddler!!!
