First time to Jaya Jusco after a long time

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Yesterday, we brought my Mom to Jaya Jusco to get a few things. We haven’t shopped there for ages. Now we remember why, although this happens everywhere else in Malaysia, and sometimes elsewhere in the world too.

We asked two JJ staff who were having a chat hidden behind some cupboards if they had any outdoor tables for sale. One of them queried, “What do you mean by outdoor?”

“Exit doors made into tables……Tables that are not indoors……..Tables that can withstand, you know, the outdoors……..rain, heat…….outdoor tables………what about plastic tables……..do you have plastic tables?”

“Sorry, no.”

“Oh, that’s too bad. Thank you.”

Mom and I continued to look around the furniture section for some plastic tables and lo and behold, there was like a five foot stretch of plastic tables in all colours, mahjong sized and smaller. These were guys in charge of the furniture section too! Of course, by the time I rambled on about the fucking lazy arses to Mom, they were nowhere to be found.

THEN.

When we finally were ready to pay, Mom asked the counter girl if she could pay first, then add in the JJ points once we get the card (we were getting a new card), and the girl said yes. After signing the bill for just under RM700 with another counter girl, and reconfirming that we could indeed collect these points, the second girl said no. She said it wasn’t possible and continued to persist that it really wasn’t possible. WTF.

Mom protested that the girl beside her said she could and if she had known, she would have waited for the card to be ready first, THEN pay. Why waste all these points? Guess what her response was???

“Oh, that girl is new. You cannot ask her.”

How were we suppposed to know that? WTF. A throw of words ensued and we asked her to call the Manager. She whispered something to yet another counter girl, then picked up the phone only to ignore us for the next half an hour with reason that the line was engaged.

Mom’s blood was boiling so she walked over to the Service Counter to complain. Girl at Service Counter was even better when we told her the problem and asked to see the Manager.

Got so many, which one? – Any one – What’s his name? – We don’t know his name, just call us a manager – Superviser, is it? – Just call us your BOSS!! – He gone on ‘rehat’ (tea break) – What is his name? Where is his office? – He got no office – Surely he has a desk where he sits!! – WAIT! (in a tone so rude that Mom asked me if she indeed heard what she thought she heard).

Mom was in pain (due to her cancer) and so flustered, she started telling her story to all the JJ customers who were at the Service Counter and apologising whilst girl who told her to WAIT just continued with her ‘other work’ ignoring us. The other customers agreed in unison that many of these staff are just plain lazy. Whenever you ask them anything, they won’t bother doing anything about it, much easier to just say no and pray that customer walks away and leaves them alone.

I walked back to the counter where we paid to check if counter girl had MANAGED to FIND the manager and miraculously, she said, OK can la. Bring your credit card. – What do you mean can la? – Can put the points in. Next time don’t ask that girl. – But I thought you said it wasn’t possible? Where is your boss? – Cannot find him (whilst she quickly keyed in some numbers and packed our stuff).

I called Mom to return to the counter and we left. The boss never showed up.

Well, if he’s going for such extended TEA BREAKS, no wonder he has donkeys for staff.

  1. You should write in to the management.. for surely the management donch know what is going on. Because the girls get away with shit.. so they continue doing what they do.
