Conversation with a toddler

Over the October weekend, my in-laws were in town so I took the liberty to dump T2 with them for the first time ever so I could go to the Doctor and whaddya know? She was fine! She looked for Mama of course when she woke up but they told her that Mama was in the washroom. Duh. Did they honestly think my baby was blur?

She didn’t believe that for a second but was quite happy to play with the kakak that used to come in every day. In fact, she was more familiar with the kakak than my in-laws (serves them right for coming so often. Not.). T2 insisted all morning for kakak to sit with her and play and every time my MIL suggested to her that kakak had to do the ironing and Amah would play with her instead, T2 would say, “NO! Kakak play. Amah iron!” and point to the ironing board for Amah to go away to iron. OOPS.

Whenever we get into the car, the driver after securing T2 into her car seat needs to put the bags away securely, put on the safety belt, check the music of the day, adjust the seat and mirrors etc etc etc; and all this is way too long for my toddler who never fails to yell, “Dwive! Dada! Dwive! Huwwy!!!” Huwwy!!!”

She’s a bossy little pest, ain’t she?!

It is no secret that the Hubs does ALL the housework and spends more time in the kitchen than I do. He was from Boarding School, trained to be hard working and independent, and I was from Princess School. Nuff said.

Every time the Hubs so much as mentions bed time to T2, she will quickly yell for him to “Cook! Dada, Go Cook!!” and points for him to leave her space (rather rudely like a mother hen!).

******************************************************

She even bosses people around remotely via Blackberry.

Every thing and every one belongs to T2. If big sister, Che-Che T1 would sit on any of us, she would quickly run to us and push Che-Che away shouting, “MY MAMA!!! MY MAMA!!” or “MY DADA!! MY DADA!!”. Sometimes, it is, “My chair! My chair!” and T1 would have absolutely no chair to sit on because EVERY chair in the room is T2’s chair so she ends up sitting on the floor. She doesn’t mind doing this but does it with MEGA ROLLED EYE BALLS. I don’t blame her at all.

Bless my precious, T1. She always gives in to this baby monster…….

T2 has this new habit of not wanting to wear long pants. Whenever she wears long leggings or pyjamas, she needs us to roll/fold it up to above knee level because it is too hot. With long sleeves, we have to roll/fold it up to above her elbows. There is just no way she would wear anything long if not rolled up and gets seriously irritated if it comes down long again. If she had a choice, she’d just run around naked.

Doesn’t she look like a monkey? She is one!!!
