We finally did it. Traipsed to LV, me in shorts, Mom in slippers and Tee in, I can’t remember what, kid’s clothing?

Mom didn’t bring her bag because she didn’t know I had an agenda that day (Friday, 2.30pm 17th April 2009, for Kathy Lam’s reference) but since we were there, she decided to tell the lady, named Debbie, about her bag being in very poor condition after a month of owning it.

The entire store was empty. We were the only customers and there must’ve been about 10 staff clad in black being bored out of their wits.

Debbie listened. She did not smile. At all. Mistake number one.

And then she said suspiciously that Mom would have to bring the bag in for them to review it before committing to anything, still not smiling. Due to her cold demeanour, Mom asked her for LV’s headquarter’s telephone number in KL.

Debbie blabbed out “214xxxxx”

By then, Mom was getting slightly impatient (with her Cancer pain and all) so she glared at Debbie with her fiery dragon eyes and stern, curt, deep voice, “WRITE IT DOWN.”

So Debbie brought out a piece of paper to write it down, still with a rather long face before Mom started asking for her name, her Manager’s name etc etc etc. And suddenly, as though a needle of heroine had been jabbed up her butt, Debbie immediately warmed up.

But it was too late. The Stephen Sprouse limited edition rose bag that Mom was eyeing and trying to convince ME to get, was left to be all alone in its glass cage feeling suicidal. I didn’t like the bag as it was too loud for me but Mom said that if I wasn’t going to get it, then she would. Well, Debbie spoilt that plan that day. Otherwise, I could have borrowed Mom’s loud bag for loud moods, haha….

By then, I had already gone off to hunt for my goods and I was pleasantly being serviced by a smiley gentleman by the name of Alex I think it was, when suddenly Mom came from behind and said as a matter of factly, “You know, you guys should teach your staff to be more like you.” And I suddenly lost Alex whilst Mom started blabbing furiously to him about LV’s stuck up attitude problems. She was telling stories about how the late Tan Sri Syed Kechik’s wife (that’s Syed Mokhtar’s mother-in-law) once came in and walked straight out because of such attitude problems. Blablablablablablablablablabalblabla………

Her voice was getting loud and I remember myself mumbling to someone to please excuse her as Mom has been impatient ever since her cancer pain had gotten worst. But you know what? They really deserved it. I’ll tell you why.

After choosing my bag, I went on to browse the jewellery section but when I wanted to see a particular bangle, there was NOBODY to service me. I looked around and the nearest 2 ladies in black were busy chit-chatting away, so I ended up asking the door man in black, who walked right up to those girls to prompt them that a customer needed some errr……service?

I asked the lady if they had a particular colour of the bangle I wanted and she said they were out of stock. Too bad.

Then I went on about embossing my initials onto my bag blablabla…..

Later, they came back to say, oh….we have it after all.

By the time we left the store, there were more smiles and a few more groups had walked in. The Starhill team seem to be better trained, that’s all I can say. For this reason, no more LV for me AND Mom from Malaysia, just as I boycott Coach.

So whilst all this was happening, this is what Tee did to stay entertained:

A pair of shoes that LV said looked really good on me despite how I said I did not like them at all.

These are a pair of slippers that Tee tried on and liked.

She probably thought her Nana should have these…….

And a random shot to show how she would like her new room to be one day.
