Mamapumpkin??? Once upon a time, she designed buildings and interiors of corporate offices and on the rare occasion, homes. Now, she cleans poop and is student of a patience management course. From the drawing board as a London Architect to the realities of Motherhood, she has certainly learned many lessons in humility. And then others.....
To succeed in the corporate world, first succeed with your kid as the happy boss. Seriously.
This blog is about Mamapumpkin: A crazy, demented Mom who cares full time, alone, without any help, for an even crazier preschooler AND a baby with a boob addiction problem.
She writes anything that comes out of her head, mostly without thinking first, which almost always gets her into trouble (according to her husband, whom she considers the love of her life.......on a good day).
Her 2 pet monkeys drive her towards challenge after challenge, 24/7. Day after Day.....and by the way, her parents are Muslim, her in-laws Buddhist, she's Catholic and her Hubs, an Atheist. She's thinking her kids should be Hindu, just to complete the rainbow religion cycle.
Gotta love it.
She'd love to hear from you : Mamapumpkin at gmail dot com

Although that’s not to stay that you cannot start it anytime. Better late than never! T1 is only 5 years old but my Mother has already started teaching her about cleaning her face, applying moisturisers, and make up. Perhaps she has learnt her mistake of not ever teaching me and that is why I look the way I do! Thus T1 has good face care habits from a very young age although I forbid make-up except for school concerts. It is most likely that she will have great complexion for a long, long time. Myself however, what can I say? I need to apply an instant wrinkle remover on a daily basis!

I’ve noticed that I usually break out in one or two spots just before my periods but generally, I am blessed with good skin. However, I’ve realised that one of the biggest causes of adult acne comes from what we consume and our stress levels, which indirectly screw up our internal physiology. So if you want to have baby bottom skin, then watch what you eat and be happy everyday!

Lately, I’ve been very stressed because I don’t have any help and I have demanding kids. Plus, I am stressed out about money. And I don’t have time to cook proper meals for myself nor time to exercise. It’s all a big vicious cycle and I feel like a really bad, disorganised Mom who can’t get it together and because of this, I am getting more and more large and having acne breakouts. Soon I will need acne treatments for my face.

Today, the Hubs made me go through this plastic bag of stuff that he’d compiled from one of our old drawers and the stuff had been sitting around for the last month. But today, TODAY!!! Finally, he said DO IT RIGHT NOW, so I did. In it were 2 very compact wallets which were like the rfid wallet types that police men use to flash their badges and IDs, but they were so old and growing mold that I chucked them immediately into the bin. A real shame, as they were nice, organised wallets with photo inserts.

I was shocked today when I learnt that we can now buy a Dell laptop for aslittle as RM1800! When I got mine a couple of years ago, it was about 6k! It wasn’t even a large one as I felt a big screen would be too heavy for me so I only got a 13 inch screen. But it is quite powerful as I have architectural software on it. I’ve already changed the batteries twice and must say the baby is still going strong. I managed to get an extended laptop warranty by paying Dell an additional 1k last year so now, my laptop has lasted…..what? Close to 5 years?

That’s our faithful printer at home, after we gave away the last one. We hardly ever use it though except to print stuff for T1 sometimes whenever her school work demands for it. For example, at the beginning of this year, she came home asking for pictures of baby animals for her Science homework. I brought out some magazines but apart from a kitten and a puppy, we couldn’t find the rest! Then Mommy had a light bulb moment! Bling-bling! We could print out ANY baby animal we wanted from the lovely internet! So that’s what we use our color printing for……

I always wonder what life would be like now if I had followed my heart to be a doctor and not an architect. Majority of my college mates became doctors and I really would have gone with them had I not been so lazy and easily influenced. I made the grades to be a doctor, I was just too lazy to be one. And now, I keep wondering and wondering……the grass is always greener, isn’t it?
Well, I don’t know. My friends who are now doctors don’t exactly have it easy. Doctors have to be on call every now and then and then it depends on what kind of doctor you are. Doctors also have liabilities and get exposed to lots of diseases which surely cannot be good if you have young children at home. Doctors have to wear Nursing Scrubs that have to be laundered under sterile conditions. Do I sound like I’ve eaten some sour grapes?
I don’t mind wearing the doctors’ Lab Coats, actually maybe I do, or perhaps it’s those grapes again. If I were a doctor, I’d be wearing Christian Louboutin shoes with an Hermes doctor’s bag! Talk about a doctor with style! I can dream……..can’t I???

Every time I think about my in-laws, I get stressed about my weight because they are all such a fit and lean family and I have a complex about being seen with them because I stand out like the obese daughter-in-law. I am also in a fix now because I am still breastfeeding and because T2 is a skinny baby, I cannot afford to diet at all. I wish she’d just take formula but she is just one of a kind. I’ve tried mixing formula with honey (as the Doctor suggested), fed her with spoons, cups, straws, syringes, bottles….nothing works. She wants what she wants. I wonder if there are any side effects of hydroxycut because if there aren’t, I might just give it a try after I stop breastfeeding!

An old friend of mine from school whom I haven’t seen for more than 10 years has invited me for an 80s party this weekend as he is celebrating his big birthday bash. I am so excited because I’ll be seeing old school mates that I haven’t seen since forever!!! I’ve already picked out what I’m wearing – it was going to be either Madonna, Cyndi Lauper or Boy George…….gosh, that 80s era really brings back some awesome memories. What were you wearing in the 80s??? I only wish I had the best weight loss pills now because ALL my school mates wouldn’t be able to recognise me, 25 kilos heavier!

Here’s one for you. How many of you know what an ATV is? I sure didn’t know what it was…..I thought it had something to do with television, like maybe some new cable channel or like Astro Beyond, but it is actually more like an SUV, and to be exact, an ATV is an All Terrain Vehicle. What is that?! An atv is essentially a cross between a motorbike and a car. Yes, google it.
